The night was growing darker. As time passed, the evening unfolded quietly in the dreams of the people. With the sunrise, a new day began in Wiltspoon, at Wildridge Manor. Serenity descended from upstairs. “Sister,” she called out. Upon hearing that her sister was coming, she hurried downstairs. Tania was engaged in conversation with Liberty. When Serenity’s voice reached them, both Tania and Liberty turned to see her approaching. Serenity walked over, greeted her mother-in-law, then sat beside Liberty, asking, “Sister, what brings you here today?” As soon as she finished speaking, Liberty playfully poked her forehead with her finger. “Sister, are you not happy to see me?” Serenity quickly wrapped her arms around Liberty’s and replied with a smile, “Sister, I rarely see you because you’re always busy. You often say that there are too many people at the restaurant when I visit, and you worry I might bump into someone if I stay too long. I’m concerned about you, and it’s not that you don’t want me there. By the way, has Sonny returned yet?” Just the day before, Serenity and Zachary had taken Sonny to the Brown’s house. Hank had done his best to keep Sonny home for dinner, but ultimately, Sonny ended up staying with the Browns. Hank had promised Serenity and Zachary he would bring Sonny back after dinner. “He’s back. It was very late last night when his dad dropped him off at my restaurant. His dad didn’t go inside; he just left him at the door and left. By now, he’s probably already off playing. How could he be quiet for long?” Serenity chuckled, “That’s typical behavior for children. I assumed he would spend the weekend at the Brown’s house.” “It’s good for him to stay one night, but he won’t last two days there.” Since Sonny’s birth, Liberty and Serenity had been looking after him, and he hadn’t formed a deep attachment to being away from home.

Tania had mixed feelings about the Brown family. She stood up and walked away for a moment, then returned with some food, placing it on the coffee table. She addressed her two daughters, saying, “Seren, you can talk to your sister while I go look for Sonny. I’m not sure where that little guy has wandered off to this time.” With a smile, she turned to Liberty and added, “Please stay here for lunch.” Liberty didn’t hesitate to agree: “In that case, I’ll excuse myself.” Tania replied, “No need for that; if you’re willing to stay for dinner, Seren can have an extra bowl of rice.” Serenity smiled and chimed in, “Mom, I usually eat plenty.” As a foodie, she enjoyed her meals. Tania beamed and said, “Yes, yes, I love that you can eat well.” At that moment, Serenity was experiencing pregnancy symptoms and had been vomiting after meals. Tania had been concerned that this might affect Serenity’s appetite, but fortunately, her worries were unfounded, as Serenity still had a good appetite.

“Keep chatting; I’ll go find Sonny,” Tania said quickly before heading outside, allowing the two sisters some time to talk. She sensed that Liberty had come over to discuss something important with Serenity.

“Sister, was Zachary at home when you arrived?” Serenity inquired, noticing her husband was missing.

Liberty replied, “Sonny didn’t run off by himself; Zachary took him with him.”

Serenity responded with an “oh” and invited Liberty to eat. Liberty smiled and said, “I’ll skip the snacks to avoid gaining weight again. It’s so easy to gain weight, but losing it is quite a challenge.”
