“Uncle is here,” she said. “When my uncle was at work, I took you to Aunt Jasmine’s house to enjoy delicious food until you were satisfied.”

Serenity asked, “Sonny, when did your aunt say that?”

Sonny had actually betrayed Serenity. She had instructed him not to let Zachary know, believing it would be better for her to explain everything directly to him. Sonny quickly covered his mouth and exclaimed, “Oh no! My aunt told me not to say anything, but I did. What should I do? Uncle Duncan, please pretend you didn’t hear that.”

Serenity sighed and looked at Sonny, then at the man beside her. “Husband, I did mention that. I won’t take food for myself alone. If there’s anything delicious, I’ll definitely share it with you.”

Zachary wasn’t angry; instead, he replied, “You are a mother now, yet you still act like a child. Just tell me what you want to eat. When haven’t you been satisfied? I won’t let you overindulge, though, as I worry it might upset your stomach. Everyone says pregnant women get hungry easily, but they should eat small meals frequently and avoid overeating. When Sonny is full, you still claim he isn’t setting a good example.”

Serenity responded sheepishly, “I just mentioned it casually; Sonny took it seriously.”
