Fortress Hotel.

Situated in the presidential suite on the top floor.

Liberty and Hayden were seated on the sofa in the living room while Kevin poured water for the two women and prepared a plate of fruit.

“Sister Liberty, why don’t you come and live in my house? I stay there alone. The house is spacious with many rooms. We could keep each other company if you moved in,” Hayden suggested.

Hayden was inviting Liberty to reside in her private villa.

Liberty turned to her with a smile and replied, “Miss Queen, if I move into your house, entertainment reporters in Jensburg will claim your relationship with the third young master York has ended. They might even suggest that the third young master York is feeling sentimental and that your preference is for women.”

Hayden was taken aback.

Since she was pretending to be a man, Liberty moving in would likely lead to misunderstandings and unwanted complications.

When Liberty first arrived in Jensburg, she struggled to find her footing. Many people disliked her and treated her poorly.

Hayden had numerous admirers, and while they couldn’t compete with Kevin, they believed they could challenge Liberty.

“Miss Queen, your relationship with the third young master York is becoming increasingly stable. When the time is right, you could publicly acknowledge that you are a woman, so others won’t constantly accuse you of being gay. You are clearly a normal person,” Liberty remarked.

After a moment of silence, Hayden responded, “I don’t feel the need to explain anything to the outside world. If Kevin and I ever get married, I will wear a wedding dress, and then everyone will understand.”

Liberty smiled and said, “Perhaps others will think you are a man disguised as a woman and believe you are the one.”

Hayden: “…”

others to get married or divorced. My marriage was chaotic, leading to my divorce. During an incident of domestic abuse, I chased him down several streets wielding a kitchen knife. At times, I reflect on what marriage has truly brought to women. We marry into a man’s family, work hard alongside him, manage a household together, bear children, and care for our in-laws. Yet, we often find ourselves confused. Even if we are scolded, it feels futile; all I seem to do is spend money.

Nonetheless, there are still good men in the world. I can’t speak for all men, but the third young master York is certainly one of the good ones. His family has a commendable tradition, and good family values produce good men.”

Hayden said, “Sister Liberty, I understand. Let’s not dwell on the past. Instead, let’s focus on the future. You and Mr. Lewis are getting along wonderfully, and he also has a great relationship with Sonny. I believe Sonny resembles Mr. Lewis more than his own father.”

When Duncan was mentioned, recalling the awkward moment when she flew to Jensburg, Liberty smiled and said, “Mr. Lewis is wonderful. He mentioned that he appreciates Sonny because of Sonny’s affection for me, and that his attention will only continue to grow.”

She and Duncan still had Sonny’s blessing.

Sonny: It feels like I’ve found a stepfather.

Hayden: “Sister Liberty, do you have my mobile number? If you need anything in Jensburg, just give me a call.”

“Yes, Seren informed me,” Liberty replied with a smile. “Miss Queen, don’t worry; I won’t hesitate to ask for your help. When I need it, don’t even think about escaping—I will definitely seek your assistance.”

He set down two glasses of water and went to fetch two plates of cut fruit before sitting next to Hayden. “Sister Liberty, have some fruit,” he offered. “Thanks,” Liberty replied, grateful to Kevin. Rather than eating the fruit, she picked up the cup of warm water and took a few sips. Her phone buzzed occasionally with incoming messages, which she knew were from Duncan without needing to check.

Setting the water glass down, she turned to Hayden and Kevin, saying, “Miss Queen, you seem busy. Why don’t you go ahead and handle your work? I’ll head back to my room to rest for a bit. I’ll treat you to breakfast tomorrow.”

Hayden replied, “Sister Liberty, you’ve traveled so far; I can’t let you treat me to breakfast. I’ll take care of you since I’m the host. I’ll come over early tomorrow morning, and we can have breakfast together.”

After a moment’s thought, Hayden reconsidered and suggested, “How about you come to my house for breakfast? Tomorrow is Sunday, and I have the day off. I can wake up and prepare breakfast so you can taste my cooking skills.”

Despite her heavy workload, when Kevin didn’t interfere with her life, she was also a workaholic. She often worked overtime at the company on Saturdays and allowed herself to rest only on Sundays.
