-Liberty stated, “Regardless of the circumstances, I want to meet his family.”

Kathryn replied, “Both of his parents are deceased, and he has only one younger brother. When his brother arrives, I will let you know so you can come over. Liberty, my family is currently in turmoil. I need to address these family matters first and we can discuss this another day when I have the time.”

Liberty simply hummed in response.

Kathryn then ended the call.

“Let me go! I want to see Mom! I want to see Mom! Let me go!”

Shiloh awakened, already dressed, but her two sisters-in-law were dragging her downstairs.

One of the sisters-in-law even brought additional clothes and followed closely behind.

The three brothers remained silent, their gazes fixed on Holden.

Holden’s face was as pale as a sheet of paper. He had collapsed to the ground, lacking the strength to rise. His sons helped him adjust his clothing, yet he felt utterly exposed before them.

His mind was a haze, and he couldn’t comprehend how things had escalated.

Fear flickered in Holden’s eyes as his three daughters-in-law pulled Shiloh away, but he found himself unable to voice his concerns.

His fate was not looking good!

He understood all too well how ruthless his wife could be.

If he angered her, neither he nor the Janzen family would escape unscathed. For him, life would be worse than death.

Matriarch Farrell might not kill him, but she could easily make his life unbearable.

“Dad.”

Marco still felt sympathy for Shiloh.

They had cared for Shiloh since she was a child, treating her like family.

Knowing she was the heir to the Farrell family, they doted on her and maintained a strong brother-sister bond, hoping that once she rose to power, they would benefit from it.

Who would have thought that Shiloh was not their biological sister but rather the daughter of a servant?

Their

Marco’s biological sister was raised in a servant’s household, where she was treated very poorly by the servant. Marco and his siblings recognized that they should treat their biological sister with kindness; however, they did not grow up together and did not form any emotional bonds with her during their formative years. As a result, they lacked feelings for her and naturally did not love her. The sister they cared for most was Shiloh.

Now, witnessing Shiloh being dragged away, Marco felt an urge to rescue her but hesitated to speak out. Matriarch Farrell was furious, and any attempt by Marco to intervene on Shiloh’s behalf could lead to him being expelled from the house.

“Dad, what’s happening with you and Shiloh? Just talk to me; look at how they’re treating her!” Marco urged Holden anxiously.

With the help of his brother, Marco lifted Holden off the ground and settled him onto a single sofa. The room was permeated with the scent of alcohol. When they entered, both their father and Shiloh reeked of it. Just how much had they consumed?

“Dad, did you and Shiloh drink a lot of wine?” Marco questioned, noticing that most of the bottle he had brought was nearly empty. “That bottle contained strong alcohol. You could easily get drunk from it. You and Shiloh finished it!”

Holden opened his mouth to respond but found himself at a loss for words. He was not intoxicated. Although most of the wine was indeed strong, both he and Shiloh had good tolerances and shouldn’t have been affected by just over half a bottle. However, he did feel quite warm after drinking it.

He felt irritated and confided in Shiloh about his wife’s overbearing nature. Although he was in his seventies, he still had needs that his wife no longer met. He neither supported her nor considered divorce; instead, he opted to eat fast food and faced public humiliation at his wife’s hands. He was too afraid to go out.
