Kathryn said generously, “Just adjust your words in front of my mom. She’s still upset.”

With that, Kathryn stepped outside the house.

The Butler followed her and asked as he walked, “Miss, may I ask what Mr. Janzen and Shiloh did last night? Madam was so furious that she sent Shiloh away. Mr. Janzen ended up in the hospital again, correct? Did Shiloh injure him?”

The Butler was not originally a butler, but he had been with the Farrell family for many years, starting his service when Matriarch Farrell came to power. He was well aware of the dynamics between Matriarch Farrell and Holden. If Shiloh had harmed Holden, Matriarch Farrell would certainly be angry.

Kathryn replied, “Butler, please refrain from inquiring about matters my mom prefers to keep private. Knowing too much could be detrimental for you.”

The Butler smiled wryly, “Miss, thank you for the warning. Now, go for a run. I’ll head to the kitchen to check on breakfast preparations. I assure you, a hot meal will be ready when you return from your morning run.”

He paused at the door, watching Kathryn walk away before turning back into the house.

Kathryn began her warm-up in the yard, jogged a couple of times, and then approached the villa gate.

The door was still locked.

Kathryn had the key and used it to unlock the door.

Shiloh, who was curled up in a corner, awoke to the sound of the door opening.

She looked up and saw the villa door ajar. Instantly, she stood up. However, whether it was due to fatigue or the heaviness of her clothing, she struggled to rise; she staggered a few times while trying to walk and ultimately fell to the ground.

Kathryn paused and looked at Shiloh with a condescending expression.

Shiloh struggled to sit up. When she finally looked up and saw Kathryn, her face went pale. In that moment, she wished for a hole to hide in.

However, apart from two trays of plants at the villa’s entrance, there was nowhere to conceal herself, let alone a hole to crawl into.

Kathryn observed Shiloh’s panic with an air of leisure.

She recalled that when she first returned to Farrell’s house, Shiloh often watched her embarrassment as if it were a performance. Ironically, the person responsible for her humiliation was still Shiloh.

Desiring to keep her career a secret from the Farrell family, Kathryn had initially pretended to be naive and acted like a country bumpkin, so convincingly that everyone believed she was a simpleton incapable of contributing anything meaningful.
