“No, Mr. Queen is not a crook. Haha, I don’t think anyone could have anticipated that outcome. It’s quite unexpected,” Matriarch Farrell chuckled again.
She felt a sense of relief.
Deep down, she truly hoped that Hayden would become her son-in-law. It was evident that Mr. Queen had a positive attitude toward Kathryn.
Although Kathryn wasn’t extraordinarily beautiful, she wasn’t unattractive either. After all, she was the biological daughter of Matriarch Farrell and Holden. In their youth, both of them were quite attractive, especially Holden, who had been a handsome man. Matriarch Farrell, being so talented, had always admired Holden.
She believed Hayden would be interested in someone like Kathryn.
She then understood; it wasn’t that Hayden disliked anyone, but rather that Hayden was a girl herself.
“Is Mr. Queen not crooked?” Holden asked, confused. “If so, why would he accept Mr. York?”
Matriarch Farrell replied, “You can guess.”
Holden said, “I can’t guess.”
Matriarch Farrell laughed and explained, “Mr. Queen attended the Talbot family’s banquet tonight in an evening gown. Mrs. Talbot and Mrs. Queen are acquainted. When Young Master Queen appeared in a gown, he likely attracted a lot of attention. Consequently, he mentioned that he was originally a woman, but dressed as a man for convenience.
To summarize, Mr. Queen is not Mr. Queen but Ms. Queen, a woman disguised as a man.”
“If she’s a woman, how could she be interested in our daughter? It makes sense for her to accept Kevin’s feelings.”
Holden was taken aback.
Mr. Queen was actually a woman!
Was it real or fake?
How heartbreaking it would be for Shiloh to find out.
Holden’s first thought was that Shiloh would be devastated.
In reality, Shiloh had not received any news yet.
She was kicked
After leaving the Farrell family mansion with nothing, Shiloh wandered around the villa area. It was Marco who contemplated their sibling bond and discreetly brought Shiloh to a small villa in his name, allowing her to stay there temporarily. Once their parents returned from the hospital and their mother’s anger had subsided, they began to plead with Shiloh once more.
Even if Shiloh could not return to the mansion, it was essential that she be given a way out. However, in her current situation, it seemed that all options had been exhausted. The three brothers were heartbroken but felt powerless to help. They were reluctant to assist Shiloh openly, fearing that their wives would discover their actions and create more trouble, potentially involving their mother or Kathryn, which could have repercussions for them.
“I believe Mr. Queen has a favorable view of Kathryn. When she faced bullying at the banquet, he came to her aid. Although he may not be able to become the son-in-law of the Farrell family, he still seems to care too much,” one brother remarked.
Matriarch Farrell responded, “Now I feel reassured. It’s not that our daughter isn’t good enough; it’s that Mr. Queen lacks true character.”
Holden remained silent, pondering how Kathryn could possibly deserve someone like Hayden. While it was fortunate that Kathryn was his biological daughter, she had grown up in the countryside and, in many ways, did not measure up to Shiloh.
Holden refrained from voicing his thoughts.
