Hugh glanced at Hayden.
Hayden returned to her seat with her cup of coffee, savoring its flavor.
“Sister, Kevin is in your office, and you haven’t said a word,” Hugh whispered.
Hayden innocently replied, “You talked non-stop as soon as you arrived and didn’t give me a chance to speak. When Kevin came out, I blinked at you, but you didn’t get it. You even mentioned something being stuck in my eye. Just a reminder: you don’t know what’s going on, so who can blame you?”
Hugh regretted speaking so much and saying nonsense to Hayden when he first arrived.
Hayden continued, “I suggest you go on a business trip for a while. He just recorded what you said on his phone. He’ll play it for our parents without asking. When that happens, don’t say I didn’t warn you. If our parents don’t catch you and push you to get married because you’re so idle, your last name won’t be Queen anymore.”
Hugh responded, “I knew he was cunning, and he knows how to use our parents to pressure me. Sister, I’m going to book a flight for a business trip right now. I’ll choose the farthest city and stay for ten and a half months before returning. I remember there’s nothing urgent at our branches that needs handling from headquarters. If I’m going on a business trip, I have no idea where to go or what to do.”
Hugh looked dejected.
Hayden remarked, “Besides, even if you manage to escape, you can’t. Jensburg is your home, and you’ll return eventually. I’m likely to marry Kevin, making him your brother-in-law. Unless you sever ties with me, you’ll have to deal with him.”
Hugh pleaded, “Sister, stop scaring me. Just tell me what I should do!”
Hugh replied, “Sister, dear sister, can you bear to watch your only brother be avenged by Kevin?”
Hayden responded, “Don’t worry; for my sake, he won’t kill you. At most, he thinks you’re too idle and talkative, so he’ll find something for you to do, like helping our parents set up a blind date for you and keeping an eye on you. After all, we are siblings just ten minutes apart, and you are of marriageable age.”
Hugh thought, “…”
Why had he just spoken so much?
He had said so many things that irritated Kevin.
The sinister villain had actually recorded the conversation on his cell phone.
Kevin quickly produced another cup of coffee.
“Brother Kevin, I’m coming! I’m coming!”
As soon as Hugh saw the villain approaching, he jumped up and rushed to Kevin, taking the steaming cup of coffee from his hand with a smile.
“Brother Kevin, thank you for your hard work.”
Hugh was now like a happy pug, eagerly wagging his head and tail at Kevin.
Kevin said, “Hugh, don’t act like this. You’ll flatter me! Now it’s my turn to please you. I have to perform well and keep you satisfied, or you might persuade your sister to find another excellent man. Also, let me tell you, I would be happy to be your son-in-law, as long as your sister is willing to marry me.”

I also have a house in Jensburg. We can live there forever after getting married, so you don’t have to worry about your parents not having time to see your sister for the next hundred years.
Hugh smiled awkwardly, then slapped a hand over his mouth and said to Kevin, “Brother Kevin, I’m just rambling. I’m just rambling. You shouldn’t dwell on the faults of others. Consider what I’ve said as my own mistake and just let it go.”
Kevin replied, “No, no, no. If you hadn’t mentioned it, I wouldn’t have realized how poorly I was doing. I’m not living up to the expectations of my only brother-in-law.”
