“It doesn’t affect us at all. Thank goodness Hayden is a girl. Now we can feel more at ease and be brave enough to meet new people. We’ve already mentioned that she and Mr. York are gay, and you and your wife don’t mind. Let’s go out together; people often ask me questions.”
Donald’s cousin remarked, “When a boy in the family has a crush, they still need to check him out and find out if he is gay.” He wasn’t here to question anything, just to ensure everything was clear.
If Hayden is a girl, then so be it. The cousin insisted that as long as Hayden was straight, it was strictly a family matter and had nothing to do with outsiders.
Donald hadn’t anticipated that rumors about Hayden and Kevin being gay would circulate and impact others in the family. His cousin never mentioned it to him. Maybe the couple’s attitude had already spread, as they said they should respect their children’s decisions.
Family members also recognized that the couple didn’t concern themselves much with their children, genuinely supporting their choices.
Even if Hayden turns out to be gay, they would still choose to respect her decision.
Perhaps that’s why the cousin hadn’t come to discuss it with him.
“Since Hayden is not gay, it’s perfectly fine for her to be with Mr. York. Let’s see who dares to claim my grandnephew is gay in front of me in the future.”
Donald’s cousin agreed with Donald’s sentiments.
“In the past, I apologize to everyone for causing issues for the young men in our family,” Donald stated sincerely.
“The young men in our family don’t need to worry about finding a wife. If they have doubts, they can simply switch partners. It’s a blind date; if one doesn’t work out, it’s perfectly fine to try another.”
“As long as the children in our family are considered normal,” she said.
“When Hayden marries in the future, the wedding must be grand so that everyone knows Hayden is a normal member of our family,” she continued.
“That’s right, that’s right,” the others agreed in unison.
Mrs. Queen smiled and remarked, “Kevin is eager to get married, but our Hayden is still somewhat hesitant. I believe she has thought it through now. She won’t attend the banquet in women’s clothes until she is certain. I think a wedding early next year is quite possible.”
In reality, Hayden’s parents were also anxious, but since Hayden was not, their worries felt pointless.
They had made countless phone calls to Kevin’s parents and met several times privately to discuss the wedding plans, all of which the two young people were unaware of.
In short, the elders from both families had made the necessary preparations. Everything was in place; they just needed the right opportunity.
At that moment, the butler entered the room.
He approached Mrs. Queen and said softly, “Madam, Mrs. Talbot and Ms. Talbot have arrived.”
Mrs. Talbot and Mrs. Queen were well acquainted. Mrs. Talbot’s daughter had once admired Hayden and had mentioned the marriage between their families to Mrs. Queen several times. Mrs. Queen understood that her daughter had her own preferences and had not agreed with Mrs. Talbot. She had only told Mrs. Talbot that she couldn’t dictate her son’s life choices.
Now, Mrs. Talbot’s visit was likely to confirm whether Hayden was a boy or a girl.
After a brief moment of silence, Mrs. Queen instructed the butler, “Please go outside and inform Mrs. Talbot that I am currently entertaining guests, and it is not a convenient time for her to come in.”
Please receive her, but ask her to leave first. There’s no need to inquire about her questions; Hayden is not one to joke around.
If the individuals currently in the hall were not relatives of the Queen family, she would not feel compelled to entertain them.
Her daughter has the right to dress as a man for practicality, and there is no need to explain this to anyone. Now, her daughter has openly declared herself a girl.
Despite this, these individuals persist in approaching her and her husband for a clear explanation.
Mrs. Queen felt utterly helpless in the situation.
After the butler acknowledged her request, he promptly went outside to respond to Mrs. Talbot.
Mrs. Talbot and her daughter were waiting at the villa’s entrance. Ms. Talbot addressed her mother, saying, “Mom, I long ago gave up on Mr. Queen. Why did you bring me here to ask? It seems to imply that I haven’t moved on yet.”
