After some reflection, Mrs. Caron remarked, “What you said makes sense. However, when Julian returns, you need to ask him directly to avoid leaving me feeling anxious and uncomfortable for an extended period. Although Julian and our Kiera seem to be a perfect match, he comes from a wealthy family, creating a noticeable gap between our families.”

“Who knows if his parents will accept our Kiera? When your dad gets back, I will inform him and ask him to discreetly find out more about Julian’s parents in Wiltspoon.”

Kendrick responded, “I can handle it myself. I’ll book a flight tonight and head to Wiltspoon early tomorrow morning.”

Mrs. Caron advised, “Let your dad take you. You’re still young, and your judgment of people isn’t fully developed yet. Your dad has years of experience and a good sense of character. He’s always been asked to assess whether a potential husband’s family is suitable, which can be unreliable.”

If it weren’t for her concerns about Julian, Mrs. Caron would have liked to visit Wiltspoon herself.

Kendrick countered, “I don’t believe Julian’s parents will disapprove of my sister. Age doesn’t matter; if we round up, Julian is practically a middle-aged man in his forties, while Kiera is only twenty-four. He’s still very young, and any dislike towards him would stem from a prejudice against Julian.”

“Julian’s parents must be extremely anxious. Finally, he has a girl he likes—would they really reject her? They might even be eager to come to our home to discuss marriage.”

“So what if the Bucham family is wealthy? Are we truly poor? While we may not boast a net worth in the tens of billions, the Caron family has considerable assets. My parents have prepared well for my sister, with houses, shops, and other holdings that surpass many others.”

“I need to go to Wiltspoon to learn more about the Bucham family,” Kendrick stated. He had already pulled out his mobile phone and began preparing to book his flight.

“Mom, what’s my dad’s ID number? I’ll book tickets for both of us and fly to Wiltspoon tomorrow.”

Mrs. Caron recalled her husband’s ID card number, provided it to Kendrick, and urged him to proceed with the flight booking. She then turned to Kenneth and said, “Regardless of the circumstances, we must travel to Wiltspoon for inquiries. Our current understanding of the Bucham family comes solely from Julian. I’ve mentioned them occasionally, but Kiera remains unaware.”

Kiera had only visited Wiltspoon a couple of times, and her stays were brief, so it was understandable that she was not well-informed. Unaware of her mother and brothers’ plans, Kiera decided to take Julian for a walk. They didn’t venture far, simply meandering through the nearby streets.

Due to the snowfall and the lateness of the hour, there were fewer pedestrians than usual, making the streets less lively.

“Are you cold?” Kiera inquired.

Julian replied, “I’ve been here long enough to get used to it.”

Having spent winters skiing in the north and not residing in Wiltspoon full-time, he was accustomed to the cold temperatures.

“Is there anything you want to buy?” Julian asked.

Kiera responded, “No, I don’t need anything right now. There’s nothing on my mind. You usually treat me to food when I feel like eating, but the more I indulge, the less I crave it.”

After finishing her thought, Kiera suddenly whispered, “Oh, I forgot about…”

That bouquet of flowers you gave me is still at the martial arts gym.
