Although Serenity disliked Carrie intensely, their infrequent encounters made it difficult for Serenity to recognize her.

After noticing that Carrie had gone to Spring Blossoms, the York family’s bodyguard returned to report to Serenity.

Realizing that Carrie was at the flower shop looking for Camryn, Serenity said to Jasmine, “Could it be that Camryn and I are overthinking this? Is that girl really Carrie pretending to be someone else?”

Jasmine was not impressed by Carrie’s portrayal of Mrs. Labbe. She only recalled that Carrie was a young, attractive woman who dressed well and adorned herself with gold and silver, which contrasted with Carrie’s current state.

The primary reason for this is that Carrie lacks the funds to hire a bodyguard.

Jasmine remarked, “I don’t think that’s likely. Why would Carrie disguise herself as someone else? Her hatred for you and Camryn is clear, and she has expressed it directly. If she despises you, why would she bother changing her appearance? While they may share similar body types and voices, they look different.”

If Carrie had the means to hire bodyguards, drive a luxury car, and wear gold and silver, she wouldn’t need to approach Camryn for money. Many of her belongings are still at the Newman family mansion.

Camryn had only asked her to retrieve some clothes, and even if Carrie sold them, she wouldn’t make a substantial profit.

“What kind of car did the lady who came to buy materials arrive in?” Jasmine asked her bodyguard.

The bodyguard responded, “She arrived in a Maybach, and the bag she’s carrying is a limited edition Hermès.”

Jasmine nodded and said to her friend, “Seren, they are just two different people; don’t overthink it. During your pregnancy, try not to stress out and focus on staying happy. I’ve heard that this helps with taking care of the child after birth.”

Serenity smiled and replied, “Yes, yes, I won’t.”

“I won’t guess anymore. I’ll just ask Zachary this evening,” she said.

“Let’s not waste our time on those unimportant people,” Jasmine replied, settling back at the checkout counter and picking up another piece of sesame cake.

Serenity looked at her and said, “You keep eating! You’re consuming too much, and it’s not good for you. Your nutritionist will blame you again for eating randomly outside.”

Jasmine replied, “Seren, I really don’t want to hear about his cousin; she’s just a housekeeper.”

“She’s looking out for your well-being and the health of your baby,” Serenity said, her eyes filled with sympathy as she regarded Jasmine.

Jasmine’s beautiful face fell. “I know she means well, but she has been a bit overbearing. Thankfully, she’s become more lenient lately.”

Otherwise, Jasmine wouldn’t even be able to eat out.

Josh’s cousin initially insisted that Jasmine should have three meals a day at home, avoiding outside food due to hygiene concerns.

Jasmine ignored her advice. Josh had spoken to his cousin as well, but she didn’t push the issue further.

During a recent prenatal check-up, the doctor confirmed that the baby was developing well.

Despite acknowledging that Josh’s cousin’s meal plan was nutritionally balanced and beneficial for both her and the baby, Jasmine chose to overlook it.

After all, she was Josh’s cousin, and her mother-in-law’s niece. As long as her cousin stopped being so controlling, Jasmine would happily follow her food recommendations.

Jasmine mused, “Maybe it’s because I often indulge her, or perhaps it’s because the fetus is developing well, but she seems to be less strict with me now.”
