-Remy laughed. “Yes, yes, many people like Sonny. Sonny, be sure to leave a space for me to like you too.”

Sonny nodded generously and replied, “Uncle Johnson, I will make room for you.”

Everyone laughed.

As he entered the house, Zachary called, and Serenity answered.

The couple chatted about everyday topics, and Zachary learned that Serenity was at the store.

In the past, he would visit her whenever he knew she was working. However, he was busy tonight and informed Serenity that he wouldn’t join her for dinner.

Serenity thoughtfully said, “I’ll eat at my aunt’s place. After dinner and some conversation, I’ll head home when it gets dark. You focus on your business, don’t drink too much, and stay warm. The weather forecast indicates it will cool down again.”

This time, the temperature had dropped, accompanied by rain. In winter, rain made everyone feel even colder.

Zachary replied, “I don’t drink, and I won’t be out in the cold wind. No matter how low the temperature drops, it won’t affect me.”

Zachary spent his days in a heated office, and even when he was out for business, he always stayed at the Wiltspoon Hotel, where his room was warm.

No matter how frigid it became, it wouldn’t hinder his work as CEO.

“Seren, you’re outside every day, so make sure to dress warmly. Also, help Sonny layer up. I’ll be socializing this evening, and Duncan will be joining me.”

That was what kept Duncan busy.

Serenity replied, “I understand; I’m not a three-year-old. If Sonny gets cold, he’ll let me know, and he can find his own clothes.”

She helped Sonny put on warm clothing.

Serenity added, “If Brother Duncan is going too, please look after him.”

Zachary said, “You don’t need to remind me; I’ll take care of him. Now you eat first, and I will…”

“Pick up Duncan after I’m busy,” Serenity instructed Zachary before ending the call. As she moved the phone away from her ear, she noticed Sonny sitting next to her, watching her talk.

Seeing her put the phone down, Sonny said, “Auntie, you never let me talk to my uncle either.”

Serenity was taken aback for a moment, then gently patted Sonny’s head and replied, “Your uncle is very busy and probably won’t be home until late tonight.”

Sonny simply said, “Oh.”

“It’s time to eat!” Mrs. Stone called out.

Serenity tucked her phone back into her trouser pocket, stood up, and took Sonny’s hand once more.

“Sonny, is it cold?” Mrs. Stone asked.

“Not cold,” Sonny answered.

He then turned to Serenity, asking, “Auntie, are you cold?”

Serenity smiled and replied, “I’m not cold either.”

“I’m not sure if my mother is cold. Auntie, Uncle Lewis, and I are visiting my mother on Friday. Can you help me get some warm clothes from her? I want to bring them to her so she won’t be cold, but I can’t reach them because I’m too short.”

Sonny asked Serenity for help since he couldn’t reach his mother’s clothes even if he stood on a small bench.

“Okay,” Serenity agreed.

She considered mentioning that Liberty didn’t need more clothes since Jensburg was colder than Wiltspoon, and Liberty had brought thick clothing with her. However, realizing this was Sonny’s way of showing care, she kept her thoughts to herself.

After dinner at the Stone family’s house, Serenity and Sonny played together until the baby woke up. The aunt and nephew then decided it was time to go home.

It was eight o’clock in the evening.

Upon returning home, they noticed the house was brightly lit, with even the second-floor rooms illuminated.

Before Serenity exited the car, she asked Sonny, “Who is here? Why are the lights on the second floor?”

While it was normal for the first-floor lights to be on, the butler typically waited inside for the couple’s return, and their room was on the second floor. Neither the butler nor the servants would go upstairs without permission, which is why Serenity found it odd to see the lights on upstairs.

Sonny suggested, “Maybe great-grandma is back.”

Serenity smiled and replied, “I hope you’re right. Grandma is so old, yet she still spends every day away from home, just like a child.”
