Serenity and Tatum did not enter the house right away.

Tatum glanced at Serenity and asked hesitantly, “Sister-in-law, can we talk for a moment?”

Serenity smiled and replied, “Of course! If you have something to share with your sister-in-law, just go ahead.”

“My parents are having a heated argument because of me. I want to pursue a career as a home cook, but I can also manage my business. However, my mom doesn’t agree. She believes that since I have my own business, I can cook at home if I enjoy it; there’s no need for me to be a chef for others. She sees being a chef as just a job, but she thinks of me as the sixth young master of the York family. How could I possibly be a chef for someone else?”

Tatum felt a bit troubled. His mother’s disapproval was causing tension between his parents.

He was different from Zachary.

Zachary had a close relationship with his grandparents, who raised him. Although they taught him well, he spent more time with his parents and valued their support.

Tatum, not being the eldest son, was not obligated to take over the family business. This year, however, he began to help manage it while also running his own venture.

He believed he could pursue his passion without excessive pressure and thought his parents would support him.

He never expected Tania would oppose him, but he assumed Liam would back him as usual, leading Tania to argue with Liam instead.

After Tania went upstairs, both Liam and Tatum thought she was upset and alone in her room.

Unexpectedly, Tania quietly left the house while they were distracted and went to Zachary’s place.

Liam and Tatum took turns knocking on Tania’s door upstairs to apologize, but the room was completely empty.

If Liam and Tatum hadn’t received a message from Tania, they would still be waiting foolishly for her to calm down and come out.

“Serenity said, ‘Mom mentioned this to me as well. I told her that you enjoy cooking and aspire to be a chef, doing what you love. We are your family, and it’s important for us to support you.’

‘Mom has come to terms with it now. You shouldn’t be too hard on yourself. My parents have such a strong relationship that they won’t let minor issues drive a wedge between them. Any tension will pass quickly.’

Liam had devoted years of attention to Tania.

For the first time, Tania would feel anger if Liam did not stand by her.

‘Actually, Mom isn’t upset with you; she’s upset with Dad for not supporting her.’

Tatum smiled helplessly, pursing his lips. ‘That’s true. I don’t deserve to have my mom angry with me. The only person capable of making her angry is my dad. Thank you for speaking up for me in front of Mom, sister-in-law.’

Tania was generally open-minded but occasionally worried about how others perceived her, fearing it might bring disgrace to the young master of the York family and reflect poorly on her as the eldest wife of the York family.

Tatum understood Tania’s concerns.

However, Tania quickly came to terms with her feelings.

Just as she had been reluctant when Zachary married Serenity, she never acted against their relationship.

Tatum also protected Serenity fiercely, ready to cut ties with anyone who spoke ill of her.

Serenity smiled and said, ‘We are all family here, so there’s no need for formality. Your eldest brother and I wish you well.’

Tatum thanked Serenity.

‘Tatum, I want to ask you something in confidence. Please answer me honestly,’ Serenity said suddenly, lowering her voice.

Tatum’s dark eyes flickered.”

It was as if Serenity had an inkling of something. Still, he replied, “Sister-in-law, feel free to ask; I assure you I will answer you truthfully.”

“Are you going to be a home cook for someone? Has your grandma picked that someone to be your wife?”

Tatum was left speechless.

How did the sister-in-law find out?
