“Good night,” Serenity said to Zachary as she closed the door.
Zachary stood at the doorway, having suggested that he sleep in the study, but Serenity had insisted he leave, and he watched her shut the door.
He had the distinct impression that Serenity had sent him away.
After rubbing his nose, Zachary reluctantly turned around and headed back to the study.
There was nothing more to discuss that night.
The following morning, when Zachary woke up, Serenity had already risen early and prepared a glass of honey water for him.
Zachary greeted her, saying, “Honey, good morning.”
Serenity had already given Sonny his breakfast. As she carried Sonny’s small schoolbag and led him out of the dining area, she spotted Zachary coming downstairs.
After a sweet greeting, Serenity said, “Husband, I made you a glass of honey water. Don’t forget to drink it.”
Though he hadn’t been drunk the previous night, he had consumed strong alcohol, and he worried he might have a headache when he woke up.
Serenity had thoughtfully prepared the honey water for him.
Zachary felt fortunate to have such a caring wife.
Serenity beamed with pride.
Zachary replied, “Alright, I’ll drink it in a bit. Seren, you woke up so early.”
He was usually the first to rise.
“Well, Sonny woke up early,” he added.
“Uncle,” Sonny called out brightly.
Zachary approached, ruffled his hair, and said, “Be good at kindergarten.”
Sonny responded, “I am very good! My teachers and classmates like me a lot.”
“Yes, yes, everyone likes you,” Zachary smiled and pinched Sonny’s cheek again.
“That’s right! I’m the most handsome boy in Wiltspoon, and everyone loves me,” Sonny proclaimed with a confident smile.
Serenity grinned and nodded at her nephew. “I guess you learned that from your uncle Rowan.”
Rowan often talked about the most…
A beautiful boy in Wiltspoon caught everyone’s attention. Sonny enjoyed playing with Rowan, which allowed him to learn from their interactions. He chuckled but did not respond verbally, simply acknowledging the moment.
Serenity said, “Dad, Mom hasn’t gotten up yet. When they do later, please let them know I won’t be back for lunch so they don’t have to wait for me.”
She needed to drop Sonny off at kindergarten before returning to work. At noon, she would either accompany Zachary to the Wiltspoon hotel for lunch or meet with clients. Her schedule was quite busy.
“Um,” Zachary said, looking at Serenity intently. “Please ask the driver to be careful.”
“I drive myself,” Serenity replied.
“Then you need to be extra cautious,” Zachary urged.
Serenity smiled and reassured him, “Don’t worry, I’ll be very careful. My driving skills are excellent. Husband, I’ll drop Sonny off at kindergarten first. Sonny, say goodbye to your uncle.”
Sonny waved goodbye to Zachary and followed Serenity outside. She handed him his small schoolbag as they walked. He took it and naturally slung it over his back. The bag was light, containing only a book, a change of clothes, and a sweat towel, making it easy for Sonny to carry.
Zachary watched his beloved wife lead Sonny out, while two bodyguards, assigned to ensure Serenity’s safety, awaited them outside.
“The eldest young lady,” they greeted respectfully as Serenity approached.
