Samira blushed and remarked, “The York family’s sons are all remarkable. The elders in their family are very broad-minded. Once a man marries, he remains loyal to his wife and family. Their family tradition is commendable. Who wouldn’t appreciate a good man? I fell for Callum after just a few encounters.”
Rylee surprisingly agreed with Samira’s perspective on Callum.
She responded, “It’s your choice to like Callum, but he is married now, so it’s best to move on.”
Samira sighed, “I liked him first. Before I figured out how to express my feelings, Camryn seized the opportunity.”
Rylee chuckled. “Love isn’t based on who arrives first; it’s about fate. Those without fate, even if they’ve known each other since childhood, cannot become husband and wife.”
Elisa had met Zachary a few years before Serenity. After years of pursuing him without success, Zachary quickly married Serenity. He preferred to marry a stranger than accept Elisa, proving that love isn’t about who comes first.
Rylee stated, “I’ve never heard you express an interest in Callum. You’ve never confessed your feelings to him or tried to get close.”
Although Rylee once concealed her identity and worked outside the home, she didn’t socialize much with the upper class. Nonetheless, her mother, a prominent figure in that society, shared plenty of gossip and news with her.
So it was true that she had never heard any rumors about Samira.
Samira replied, “Whenever I see Callum at a banquet, I always make sure to stay within his line of sight.”
Rylee: “…”
Samira added, a bit enviously, “People always tease me for not being able to pursue Callum. I fear being mocked if I fail, so I just keep watching.”
“Who would have thought that Camryn, the blind woman who can’t see, would end up marrying Callum? She even succeeded.”
If she had realized how easy it would be to achieve this, she would have confidently confessed her love to Callum and pursued him.
Rylee remained silent for a moment. Then, she replied coolly, “As far as I know, it was Callum who approached Camryn first and pursued her. Camryn rejected him for reasons related to her blindness.”

When Samira arrived, she immediately positioned herself as Camryn’s rival, eager to compete for Callum’s attention.
Rylee stated, “You have known Callum for longer, yet you’ve never confessed your feelings or pursued him. You’ve simply remained passive. Callum has never made any promises to you. When he meets a girl who captures his heart, he actively pursues her and finds happiness. Your jealousy and reluctance are of your own making. It’s your fault. Samira, at the banquet at my house tonight, if you dislike Camryn, keep your distance. Do not bully her or tarnish my family’s event. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
Concerned that Samira might intimidate Camryn out of jealousy, Rylee decided to distance herself from Samira for good.
In contrast, Elisa was a better friend; she had strong principles, was cheerful, and acted with integrity.
After issuing her warning to Samira, Rylee turned and headed toward the main house. Though she didn’t know Camryn well, she preferred to spend the night with her rather than with someone like Samira.
Watching Rylee walk away, Samira smirked and muttered under her breath. Dismissing Rylee’s warning, she turned and walked away to greet other wealthy ladies she knew.
Let’s come together to chat.
