Camryn opened her eyes and rolled them at him.
“Brother Da and sister-in-law are very much in love now,” she said.
“Don’t overthink things; it might affect their relationship.”
Callum chuckled.
“I know,” he replied. Dalton was married, and the couple truly shared a loving bond.
Callum felt completely relieved; he no longer had to worry about Camryn being taken away.
The look in Dalton’s eyes when he gazed at Camryn had softened from its previous intensity to one of gentleness and calm.
He genuinely saw Camryn as his younger sister.
Leaning closer, he kissed Camryn’s cheek and softly said, “Wife, you can sleep a little longer. I’ll go for a run and come back to make breakfast for you.”
“I’d rather have Tatum’s cooking,” Camryn replied.
“By the time you return from your run, Tatum might have already prepared breakfast for everyone.”
Callum smiled and said, “If you’d like, you can have breakfast at my uncle’s place. I’ll head over quickly to see if Tatum is awake.”
“Let him do more,” he added. “Let’s have breakfast at my uncle’s. I heard Tatum is going to Annenburg in the province.”
Upon hearing this, Camryn turned around, wide awake.
“Why is Tatum going to such a distant place? Is he on a business trip?” she asked curiously.
Callum responded, “He mentioned wanting to be someone’s personal chef. He said the family is quite particular, and he wanted to test whether his cooking skills are up to standard.”
“Do his cooking skills really need testing? You brothers were all trained by Grandma,” Camryn remarked.
“Serenity said that, except for Rowan, who is a bit behind, you all excel in cooking.”
“Cooking.”
Grandma was the one who relished all the delicacies in the world. The elders were responsible for training the nine sons of the York family. From time to time, the sons would cook for their grandma. If Grandma couldn’t eat what they prepared, it meant their cooking skills were lacking, and they needed to improve. They could only pass the test if they succeeded in making Grandma eat and enjoy their dishes.
This was what Serenity conveyed to Camryn. Camryn joined the York family after Serenity and was previously blind. Callum, concerned about her feelings of inadequacy, hesitated to share too much about her brothers’ accomplishments. He said, “I learned about this after listening to my aunt’s advice to Tatum. My aunt was reluctant to let him go so far, but my uncle supported him. This led my aunt to angrily stay for a night at my eldest brother’s house. It’s not hard to understand. We are nine brothers.”
Although all of them are skilled cooks, Tatum has the greatest passion for cooking. The best cooks among them are Brother Kevin and Tatum. “You are persistent and obsessed with one thing. When given the chance to test your skills, you pursue it relentlessly,” Tatum went to Annenburg in the province. They all trusted Grandma’s judgment and believed she would not mislead them. Tatum wouldn’t dare to take a careless approach toward such a significant aspect of his life. However, he likely won’t progress quickly, as he has just begun to enter the business world. After a few years of practice, Grandma will be concerned about him.
