After Samira entered, she briefly glanced at Callum before averting her gaze.
In this lifetime, she realized she had no chance with him. Her admiration for Callum, coupled with jealousy towards Camryn, had led her to offend others.
She accepted that Callum was not hers to claim.
Samira stood up and sincerely apologized to Camryn once more.
“Second Young Mistress, I was wrong last night. I apologize to you. I’m truly sorry!”
Camryn responded graciously, “Miss Levine, you apologized to me sincerely last night. I mentioned then that I would temporarily forgive you.”
Samira replied regretfully, “After speaking those words last night, I felt immense regret. I wish I could take them back. I pride myself on being educated and well-versed in the teachings of sages, yet I spoke such disgraceful words. Not only did I hurt the Second Young Mistress, but I also harmed myself. It was an act that benefited no one. I deeply regret it and feel guilty. Second Young Mistress, I apologize; I am truly sorry!”
Camryn replied, “I accept Miss Levine’s apology. However, I hope she will avoid making such mistakes in the future. Everyone makes mistakes; what matters is recognizing them and striving to correct them.”
“Thank you for your forgiveness, Second Young Mistress,” Samira said sincerely.
The three members of the Levine family had a positive attitude, and Samira’s heartfelt apology was acknowledged. Since Camryn, the one directly affected, expressed her willingness to move on and forgive Samira, the others chose not to comment further.
Thus, the matter was resolved.
Before leaving, Mrs. Levine assured everyone that if news of what transpired reached anyone, it would be handled appropriately.
Last night, the situation unfolded, and the Levine family would handle it without the York family needing to intervene. Since the issue was caused by the Levine family’s daughter, they must face the consequences.
After the three members of the Levine family departed, Tania remarked to Rosella, “Mr. Levine and his wife have an excellent reputation. They have always acted sensibly. It’s not unusual for young girls to feel a bit jealous. It would be beneficial if she worked on that.”
Rosella responded, “I also confronted Mrs. Levine last night, which is why I didn’t discipline Miss Levine.” She then glanced at Callum.
Callum felt like crying, but no matter what he did, her gaze remained fixed on him. He felt wronged and innocent. He looked good because his parents had great genes, and he excelled because of his grandparents’ teachings. If there was any fault, it lay with them.
“I just discovered last night how popular our Callum is,” his mother said. Callum replied, “Mom, I’m not fond of this kind of attention at all.”
“Will you dare to try it? Be careful and look after yourself!” she warned.
Callum quickly retorted, “Mom, I never said I wanted to try. I’m already married! I’m a married man!”
“That’s right,” she acknowledged.
Callum then wrapped his arms around his wife’s shoulders and declared, “My wife loves me the most, trusts me the most, and understands me the best!”
