-Serenity smiled and said, “Not everyone can be as straightforward and organized as you, Elisa. Emotional matters are among the most challenging to navigate.”

She couldn’t handle it as smoothly as Elisa could.

When she first discovered that Zachary had deceived her, she was furious and filed for divorce, yet her heart was still deeply tangled and in pain.

Unlike Elisa, who has experienced heartbreak but can sever ties with a decisive cut, Serenity struggled; many women find it hard to be so resolute.

Elisa smiled. “That’s true; I am direct and not messy. I recognize when there’s no hope, and I let go right away. It’s not like I can’t find love again. There’s no need to compete for a man; there are plenty of good men out there. No matter what, I trust there’s someone out there for me.”

“Hurry up and call Zachary to ask him to reach out to Evan. I want to take advantage of Evan.”

Elisa followed Serenity and Jasmine, and influenced by them, she had developed a taste for gossip.

Jasmine enjoyed it the most; all the gossip she consumed was fresh, and she only shared it with her two close friends.

Serenity hummed; Zachary had already picked up her call.

“Seren.”

Zachary’s voice was soft and warm. Elisa, who was nearby, heard him call Serenity and whispered, “When he saw me before, his expression was dark, as if he didn’t know me or want to acknowledge me. I thought he was always so cold, but later I realized it wasn’t that he lacked gentleness; he reserved all his tenderness for you.”

Serenity whispered back, “Remy’s true tenderness is only for you.”

Though Remy appeared gentle to everyone, he was merely polite and distant; his real gentleness was reserved solely for Elisa.

Elisa beamed with happiness.

“Husband, are you free?” Serenity asked Zachary.

Zachary smiled. “Just tell me what you need.”

“Mind your own business; don’t ask me if I’m free.”

When a wife calls her husband, it’s usually to ask for something. Typically, she prefers to address him by both his first and last name.

Serenity said, “This isn’t my issue; it’s Evan’s. Why don’t you call Evan and ask where he is? Tell him to come to the Wiltspoon Hotel tonight for dinner.”

Zachary’s dark eyes narrowed. “What did Evan do? Did he upset you? If he dares to make you angry, I’ve instructed Auntie to deal with him. Are you dining at the hotel tonight? Why not just eat at home?”

Serenity replied, “He didn’t make me angry, but he did upset someone else, who then came to my place. First, you need to call him and invite him for dinner tonight. I’ll explain later.”

Evan hadn’t angered Serenity. With that, Zachary returned to his usual self and said, “Alright, I’ll call Evan and get back to you.”

Serenity hummed in response.

Zachary ended the call and reached out to Evan instead.

Evan had been on edge all afternoon, sensing that something was about to happen. They had him sit in the office, surrounded by documents that required his signature, which only added to his distraction.

“Ring ring ring…”

Suddenly, his phone rang.

If he got too excited, something bad might occur.

He quickly picked up his phone and glanced at the caller ID. It was his older brother, causing his nerves to tighten even more.

They wouldn’t contact their eldest brother without a reason, and he rarely called them unless it was necessary.

Taking a few deep breaths, Evan finally answered the call.

“Brother,” he said, forcing a smile.

He thought his older brother was going to scold him, but he didn’t reprimand him harshly in front of his smiling face.
