Evan set out to find his grandmother, but she encouraged him to handle it on his own. He requested her approval for his choice of partner, to which she responded that she had already selected someone for him. If he truly disapproved, he could seek someone he prefers, but that person’s character and temperament must meet certain standards.
Evan thought Fox had a decent character; despite having a bit of a temper, she was generally reasonable. However, he was uncertain about her family background.
“Busy working?” Serenity asked Zachary kindly. Her soothing voice pulled Evan back to reality.
Zachary replied, “Yes, we’re done now; we can go.”
Serenity stood up and called to her nephew, “Sonny, pack your books; it’s time for dinner.”
Sonny yelled in response, quickly gathering his books and stuffing them into his backpack. He then picked up his small bag and opened his arms to Zachary, asking to be carried.
Zachary picked him up affectionately, playfully scratched his nose, and said, “You still want your uncle to carry you.”
Sonny responded, “When I grow up, my uncle won’t be able to hold me anymore.”
With a smile, Zachary replied, “So, Uncle needs to hurry up and hold you. Otherwise, when you grow up, I won’t be able to lift you when I’m old.”
Sonny looked quite proud of himself.
Zachary held Sonny in one arm while wrapping the other around Serenity.
Evan felt like a big, glaring light bulb. He hesitated to speak and tried to hide behind them, walking quietly to avoid being noticed by Zachary.
The York Corporation was not far from the Wiltspoon Hotel.
Before long, the group arrived at the Wiltspoon Hotel.
Evan entered the hotel alongside Zachary and Serenity, still puzzled about the situation.
Elian would periodically message him, inquiring if Serenity had invited him to dinner, what benefits it might bring, and reminding him to think of his brothers and share.
the benefits with everyone instead of eating alone.
Evan couldn’t help but respond to Elian: “You have no idea how worried I am right now. Do you want me to share something with you? Sister-in-law mentioned that I did something wrong. Eldest brother said I’ve embarrassed the York family.”
Evan sent a voice message, whispering, “I’m on edge right now. I can’t even comprehend how I’ve brought shame to the York family.”
Elian replied, “Fourth brother, have you gotten into serious trouble? Can you even eat this meal? Haha, let me just say that if something good happens, it’s impossible for my eldest brother and sister-in-law not to inform us—only you seem to be in trouble.”
Evan’s expression was filled with sadness.
Why did he feel like Elian was reveling in his misfortune?
Elian stopped messaging Evan. After all, his eldest brother and sister-in-law inviting the fourth brother to dinner was not a positive sign.
If something good happened, they would never forget to tell everyone. They were all good, younger brothers.
Being family, Zachary and his wife took the elevator straight to the top floor and entered the hotel’s presidential suite, where Zachary typically rested.
“Evan, please wait here. I’ve invited someone to dinner. Now, send her a message and ask her to come upstairs. Later, you can help me bring her in.”

Before entering the suite, Serenity suddenly turned to Evan and said something.
Evan felt a sense of relief when he learned that his sister-in-law had invited someone else to dinner. With outsiders present, his brother and sister-in-law would still protect his reputation.
“Okay,” Evan agreed readily.
Serenity took out her cell phone and dialed the number.
Abby handed her the business card.
Abby promptly answered Serenity’s call.
Abby: “Miss Hunt.”
Serenity: “Miss Du, are you available now?”
Abby hesitated before replying, “Miss Hunt, you mentioned you would treat me to dinner tonight, so I didn’t want to go anywhere for fear of missing out on the opportunity to dine with President Hunt.”
Serenity smiled and said, “I’m in the presidential suite on the top floor of the Wiltspoon Hotel. You can take the elevator directly to the top floor. I have people waiting for you, and you’ll see him right after you exit the elevator.”
“Alright, I’ll head over now,” Abby replied.
“See you later,” Serenity said before hanging up the phone.
