-Evan had a restless night and lacked appetite, so he barely ate. He packed a bag with food before heading out to join Grandma.
“Grandma, here are some roasted chicken legs.” Evan handed a chicken leg to Grandma and then noticed Lydia sitting at the stone table, thoroughly enjoying her meal. He asked, “Grandma, who is that little girl eating so heartily?”
Grandma May replied, “Her name is Lydia. Her parents manage flower fields, and I really like her.”
Evan tasted Grandma’s grilled fish skewers and remarked, “Grandma, you seem to like all the girls. You even went to Johnson’s house hoping to bring back her only great-granddaughter.”
With a hint of regret, Grandma May responded, “Our family is financially similar to the Johnsons, and our traditions are equally strong. If Avah were raised in our family, she wouldn’t be any worse off. It’s unfortunate that the Johnson family disagrees. Ben fears I might actually take his daughter, but he spends all day at home, idly watching me.”
Evan laughed, “Grandma, that’s your only great-granddaughter, so of course, you wouldn’t want to part with her. If I were Ben, I’d definitely keep an eye on you to prevent you from ‘stealing’ the baby, haha.”
Evan could easily picture that scenario.
His grandma genuinely wished for a granddaughter or great-granddaughter.
He often joked with his parents, suggesting they consider in vitro fertilization to have four more children to ensure they had a daughter.
Then, a mix of boys and girls would come along to keep things interesting.
The parents expressed their hope for grandchildren.
They encouraged the three brothers to have more children in the future so they could finally hold a granddaughter.
“What did you want to tell Grandma?” Grandma May asked.
Evan smiled and replied, “I miss you, Grandma. Can’t I come back to see you? I have to share something with you before I return.”
Grandma May chuckled. “How many of you brothers, aside from Rowan, who has spent less time with me, didn’t grow up next to your grandparents? Your grandma also taught you these skills. I’ll know what you want to do as soon as you lift your tail.”
Last night, your eldest brother and sister-in-law invited you to dinner, and Abby from Hiribaty was also there. If I recall correctly, I helped you choose Abby, the second daughter of the Du family in Hiribaty.
Neither of you is the boss, nor do you need to take over the family business; however, you are both capable and can earn your own money. It’s a good match. “Abby also has a personality that suits you very well.”
Grandma May continued, “You are all my grandsons. I raised and nurtured you with great care for your own good. To find the partner best suited for you, I traveled to many places and observed numerous girls. Choose one that fits you well. Of course, you can also find someone who pleases me on your own, and I will accept her.
The issue is that if I don’t intervene, you all seem to want to stay single. Your parents may appear indifferent, but they are quite anxious. “Since they can’t control you, I, as your grandma, worry about it.”
Evan smiled. “Having a grandma who looks out for her grandson is like finding a treasure. Grandma has chosen a wife for us, which saves us the trouble. Given our status, we don’t have to worry about others intruding.”

Grandma May elegantly enjoyed the roasted chicken legs, and then they strolled to the flower field, where they had built a pavilion and a corridor to sit and rest when they were tired from admiring the flowers.
Although winter in Wiltspoon was not
It was cold, and there were far fewer flowers at this time than in spring; the flower fields lacked the vibrant colors and full blooms of that season. Grandma May walked into the pavilion, followed closely by Evan. Just as Grandma was about to sit down, he quickly pulled out a tissue and wiped the stone chair for her.
“Everyone sits there often, and it’s not dirty. Someone cleans it every day, so it stays very clean,” he explained.
The residents worked and lived here, showing a strong commitment to their environment. Grandma May frequently visited them at the base of the mountain, and they felt embarrassed whenever things were messy or dirty.
Knowing that Grandma May often came down to socialize, Sam arranged for several cleaning staff to ensure the hygiene and cleanliness of these areas.
