After Serenity picked up Sonny, she chose not to visit the York Corporation to interrupt Zachary. He was extremely busy that day and didn’t even have time to share a meal with her.

She wanted to avoid disturbing or distracting him.

Duncan was also occupied.

So, Serenity decided to take Sonny back to the bookstore.

When Abby saw Serenity enter the bookstore holding Sonny, she smiled and waved, saying, “Sonny, come here and let me hug you.”

Sonny remembered her well. Once Serenity released his hand, he ran over to Abby, let out a cheerful cry, and was embraced by her.

Sonny greeted Jasmine again.

Jasmine patted his head and remarked to Serenity, “Has Sonny grown a bit taller? He seems taller.”

“He has indeed grown taller and gained a few kilograms. His uncle mentioned that if he doesn’t eat more, he won’t be able to keep up with his friends during winter vacation,” Serenity replied.

Jasmine smiled and added, “That’s right. Sonny, you need to eat more. When you grow taller and gain weight, you can’t just keep up; you have to excel.”

Sonny stated, “Titus is very strong.”

He recognized that Titus excelled in many areas. However, his uncle Zachary had told him that everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, so there’s no need to compare himself to Titus. Comparing oneself to others can often lead to frustration.

Why compare yourself to others? It’s better to be content with who you are.

Be satisfied and happy.

“Sonny, we have fruits and snacks. Would you like some?” Abby inquired.

Sonny nodded eagerly, pointing at the snacks with his little finger. “I want to eat snacks,” he said.

Abby handed him a snack, and he quietly enjoyed it in her arms.

“Sonny is really well-behaved,” Abby remarked.

Looking down at the little boy, she turned to Serenity and confessed, “I actually don’t like children very much. I find them…

“Annoying and always crying, meeting Sonny last night changed some of my views on children,” Serenity said.

“Sonny may cry sometimes, but he is easy to soothe. Once he is comforted, he stops crying, gets a tissue, and wipes his tears and nose. He has been influenced by me and has developed a fondness for sweets. Now, he enjoys his favorite snacks peacefully,” she continued.

Abby smiled and remarked, “It seems to be a child’s nature to be naughty and prone to tears.”

Serenity then thought of Avah and asked, “Are you familiar with the Johnson family in Annenburg? Their daughter, Avah, is very obedient and easy to care for. She rarely cries; at just a few months old, she wakes up on her own and plays or makes ‘ahhh’ sounds to attract adults’ attention for hugs.”

“Her twin brother, Enzo, however, loves to cry. Jane mentioned that Enzo is always in tears while Avah simply watches, as if she’s enjoying her brother’s ‘crying skills.’ It’s quite amusing,” Serenity added.

After becoming a mother, Jane often shared every detail about the growth of her two children with her friends.

Serenity, being a good friend of Jane, was able to follow along through her updates. Although they were in different locations, Serenity watched as Avah grew little by little.

As the little girl matured, she increasingly resembled Ben, becoming both beautiful and adorable.

Jane said her daughter would likely inherit her father’s personality as well.

Jasmine, placing a hand on her belly, remarked, “This baby in my belly is probably going to be a little troublemaker.”

Serenity smiled and replied, “I heard from Zachary that your husband used to be quite unconventional but has since become more settled.”

Jasmine responded, “We won’t know until the baby arrives. I hope this little one will be as easy to manage as Sonny.”
