After having a bite to eat, Serenity got into her car and drove to the company. Upon arriving and entering the office, she noticed a large number of gifts.

Secretary Hillier remarked, “Madam, the fourth young master mentioned that he bought these for Miss Du and asked you to help deliver them as an apology.”

Although Secretary Hillier was curious about the gossip surrounding Evan, she respected her boss’s silence and refrained from asking questions.

“Why doesn’t Evan deliver them himself?”

Serenity glanced at the assortment of gifts, many of which were specialties from Wiltspoon.

They included items she had wanted to buy for Abby, making Evan’s gesture quite convenient for her.

Secretary Hillier replied, “The Fourth Young Master didn’t provide any further details.”

Serenity responded, “I see. Please continue with your work.”

She then walked to her desk, retrieved her cell phone from her bag, and called Evan.

Evan quickly answered the call and made another request.

Realizing that Evan had truly decided to let go of Abby, it became clear that they would not become husband and wife, nor could they remain friends, as the future fourth young lady would likely feel jealous.

Yet, Evan had flirted with Abby. After she developed feelings for him, he distanced himself and felt remorseful towards her.

He then purchased gifts and intended to send them to Abby through Serenity, merely to ease his own conscience.

After this, he resolved not to give anything to Abby again.

Serenity said, “Alright, I’ll deliver them to Abby for you, and I’ll let her know you bought them.”

Evan hesitated before saying, “Just say that.”

He was fine with not going to see her himself.

Following his encounter with Fox last night, Evan became increasingly certain of his feelings.

He was simply in love with Fox.

Even though he still didn’t know Fox’s name, where she lived, or her background, that didn’t diminish his affection for her.

Emotional matters were the hardest for Evan to confront, and he didn’t want to push himself. Since Grandma no longer cared about him, he felt free to leave whenever he wanted. As a result, he decided not to visit Abby; she likely didn’t want to see him again either, as she was the type to sever ties completely.

In this regard, she was quite similar to him.

Evan said, “Sister-in-law, I apologize for troubling you.”

“Who referred to me as your sister-in-law?” Serenity sighed.

After hanging up the phone, Serenity processed a few documents before summoning two bodyguards to help load the gifts Evan had prepared into her car. With the bodyguards escorting her, she headed to the Wiltspoon Hotel.

Meanwhile, Abby had packed her luggage and checked out of her room. She stepped out of the hotel with her small suitcase, intending to call a car to the airport for her flight scheduled after 12 o’clock. It was the perfect time to head to the airport, where she planned to grab a bite to eat while waiting to fly back to Hiribaty.

Seeing Abby dragging her suitcase, Serenity quickly instructed the driver to stop.

“Abby!” Serenity exited the car and approached her. “Didn’t you say you’d stay for two more days? Are you leaving now?”

“Yes, I’m busy with work and decided to return two days early. Sister Seren, are you here to see me off?” Abby glanced behind Serenity twice before looking back at her.

What was she still daydreaming about? Evan wouldn’t be coming to see her off.
