-Camryn paused and scanned her surroundings to ensure no one was watching before wrapping her arms around Callum’s neck and kissing him softly on the lips.
Upon returning home, she yearned for a deeper kiss with Callum. However, Trenton soon followed her inside, making that impossible.
Callum pondered the moment more than she did, so he quickly embraced her in return and intensified the kiss.
After they pulled apart, Callum whispered in her ear, “Honey, what I really wanted was dessert before dinner.”
“Trenton is home. Let’s talk later,” Camryn replied softly.
“He’s at home, but he won’t intrude on us. When we get back later, if he’s on the first floor, we’ll head upstairs. Once he goes up, we can lock the door. He’s sensible and won’t follow us; he’ll just knock. I can’t wait until tonight; I’m starving!”
Camryn: “…”
She pushed him away, blushing, and walked ahead. The chilly breeze cooled down some of the warmth on her face.

Callum, aware of her shyness, chuckled softly and followed her. As he walked, he asked, “Have you heard any news about your sister?”
Camryn replied, “No, I have no idea where she is. I’ve searched many places but haven’t found her. I can call her phone, but she doesn’t answer. She turned off its location, so I can’t track her.”
Callum inquired, “Do you need my help in finding her?”
“No, I don’t think anything is wrong. Trenton is back; let him reach out to her.” Camryn wasn’t really worried about Carrie; she just wanted to…
been estranged from their family for quite some time. Callum knew this well. “When I try to call her, she never answers. The only time she picks up is when she wants to argue with me, or if Trenton is the one reaching out,” he noted.
Carrie despised her. If she didn’t wish to argue, she would ignore his calls.
“Don’t worry about her,” Callum replied, harboring intense disdain for Carrie, especially after learning that Mrs. Newman had even considered pairing him with her. The thought made him feel repulsed.
He had no desire to even look at someone like Carrie, and he found it difficult to meet the gaze of his family’s elders.
The elders were quite open-minded and generally indifferent to personal matters. The underlying reason was that since Grandma May had taken it upon herself to select a wife for him, his parents felt no need to concern themselves with it. They all trusted Grandma May’s judgment.
It seemed that only Evan struggled to follow in Grandma May’s footsteps.
After all, Evan was Callum’s biological brother. Callum kept a close eye on Evan’s situation. He was aware that Evan had returned to the villa to confront Grandma May, having tried for several months to develop feelings for Abby, yet he still couldn’t.
Grandma May had grown weary of his reluctance.
She wished for Evan not to regret his decisions later.
Everyone else complied with Grandma May’s wishes to get closer to the girl she favored, and now they were all quite content.
Callum suspected that Evan would eventually come to regret his choices.
Camryn asked, “Trenton is probably going to visit the prison tomorrow. Callum, do you think I should go with him?”
Callum replied, “If you want to go, then by all means, go. If not, don’t feel obligated. While they are your relatives, their treatment of you is anything but familial. They can be more ruthless than enemies. However, visiting them may only worsen their mood.”
Mr. Newman and his wife had already…
They received the punishment they deserved and were all given severe sentences. Even if their sentences could be reduced through reform, they would be in their 70s or 80s upon release. Moreover, by that time, Camryn’s wings would have already hardened, and it was not their fault.
Camryn saw the light once more. With a good husband like him, her life was bound to improve. Mr. Newman and his wife would only be half as angry when they learned about Camryn’s current situation.
The better Camryn’s life becomes, the more miserable it is for their daughter.
