Chapter 692

Zachary usually drove his Rolls Royce, but on this occasion, the chauffeur returned the sedan to the old residence and remained on standby during his business trip.

“Your company’s parking lot resembles a car show. There’s such a variety of vehicles here,”

Serenity remarked as she entered the car.

She noticed numerous luxury sedans.

“We have many senior executives at the office. People often upgrade to better cars as their incomes rise. No man can resist a nice car. However, you know I prefer real estate to vehicles; their value only appreciates over time,”

Serenity thought to herself, she wouldn’t believe Zachary’s claim if she knew the cars in his garage could rival those at an auto exhibition.

“Men love cars, while women love properties. You can turn a house into a home,”

she added. Serenity had been saving to buy her own house. The car she currently drove was a gift from Zachary.

Her usual mode of transport to work was her e-bike.

“Have you texted your sister?”

“I did send her a message, but I haven’t heard back. She must be busy with something. Jasmine mentioned that my sister has been swamped lately. She’s lost quite a bit of weight too—ten pounds in a week! I think my sister could star in a weight loss commercial,”

Serenity observed. Liberty was a prime example of determination, managing to shed ten pounds in just seven days.

Serenity eagerly anticipated the day her sister would achieve her weight goal, betting that Liberty’s transformation would give Hank something to regret.

“Liberty is very determined. She’ll lose the weight since she’s committed to it,”

Serenity replied.

Having never visited Regent Residences, Serenity had never considered this affluent community.

Once she entered the residential area, she was captivated by the view outside the window.

the hilltop. By hilltop, it was more accurately the peak of a small hillock. There were about five villas on the hilltop, with the largest one occupying the most square footage.

“Which one is yours?” Serenity asked the man beside her.

“The most secluded one. It was slightly cheaper than the others due to its remote location. I appreciate the peace and quiet; being further away means I won’t be disturbed by neighbors,” he replied.

Serenity believed every word he said. He truly enjoyed the tranquility.

A few minutes later, Zachary arrived at the gate of the villa located at the very end. Serenity watched as he parked the car and prepared to remove the keys to unlock the gate. The house keys were attached to his car keys.

“Is anyone home?” she inquired.

“No. I lived alone in the house before marrying you,” he answered.

Serenity was taken aback. She had assumed he would invite his parents and grandmother to live with him in such a spacious house. It had never crossed her mind that he would live by himself.

It seemed his parents preferred not to stay with him. Serenity understood that many older individuals disliked living in a bustling city; they favored remaining in the family home, their comfort zone, surrounded by familiar neighbors. In contrast, city dwellers often barely knew their neighbors.
