Zachary took Serenity’s hand and said softly, “Seren, you look stunning tonight. Come, let me take you inside.”
Serenity nodded at Josh in greeting before following Zachary into the building.
Josh wanted to take the Sox siblings inside, but Drake declined, stating, “This is your company’s annual dinner. I don’t work here, and I’m not a woman, so I can’t be your date. I’m not going in.”
“I’ll return to pick up my sister after dinner,” he added.
Josh didn’t want Drake to tag along, though he didn’t show it openly. Instead, he persistently urged Drake to join them, attempting to pull him inside.
“Mr. Bucham, since Drake doesn’t want to go in, please don’t pressure him. Drake, you should hang out with your friends, and I’ll message you when I need you to come over.”
Serenity thought Josh had approached Drake with ulterior motives, targeting her instead.
However, seeing Josh enthusiastically acting towards her brother made her worry if he was gay or bisexual.
She wouldn’t allow him to get too close to Drake.
“I’ll head out now, Mr. Bucham, Jas.”
Drake quickly drove away.
Only after his car disappeared did Josh take Jasmine inside.
“Ms. Sox.”
As Josh and Jasmine walked closely together, he quietly suggested, “You should take my arm.”

“Look at Zachary and Serenity. They seem so close. That’s what a female companion should do. This way, you can help me fend off the admiration of the female employees.”
He added softly, “I’ll even pay you.”

She warned him fiercely, “Josh Bucham, are you trying to flirt with my brother? Let me make it clear: even though you belong to the influential Bucham family, I won’t let you manipulate Drake. My brother is straight!”
Josh winced from her pinch. When he heard her serious warning, he paused, looked at her with amusement, and responded, “Ms. Sox, I think you’re misunderstanding me. There’s no way I would be hitting on your brother.”
“If I were interested in men, wouldn’t Zachary be more appealing? Our company is filled with young and handsome elites. I really have no need to pursue your brother.”
“Then why did you propose having my brother dress as a woman to be your date?”
Jasmine agreed to be Josh’s female companion not just because he paid her generously, but also because he threatened to ask Drake to dress as a woman if she refused to help him.
Josh chuckled. “Would you have agreed to be my date if I hadn’t mentioned that?”
Jasmine was taken aback. “So you really aren’t gay?”
Josh’s expression grew serious as he replied, “Ms. Sox, you did inquire about my capabilities during our blind date. Though that wasn’t your intention, it’s easy for a man to misinterpret such questions as a challenge to his masculinity.”
“Now, you’re asking me if I’m gay. Would you believe me if I said no? If I wanted to experiment with you, would you see me as a rogue?”
