Chapter 751
Zachary took a moment to respond. Noticing a nearby pergola, he walked over to it.
The artificial snow surrounding the structure created an illusion of a winter wonderland.
At the center of the pergola stood a stone table. Zachary surveyed the fake snow all around, somehow feeling the chill of December. He remarked to Remy, “The artificial snow really enhances the view.”
In Meadspring, it was snowing. By now, the city would be experiencing freezing temperatures and blanketed in a thick layer of snow.
The closest thing to snowflakes in Wiltspoon was the fake snow.
“Well, it’s only fitting to decorate for the festive season. The snow at the estate and on the ski slope is real. Would you be interested in skiing down the slopes?”
Zachary replied faintly, “I prefer skiing up north.”
Remy smiled. “Oh, me too. We should plan a time to go together and enjoy the snow there. What better way to appreciate the scenery than on the slopes up north?”
“It seems something is bothering you, Mr. York. May I ask if you’re feeling down due to a relationship issue?”
Even though Remy was single, he had noticed Zachary’s distracted demeanor during his brother’s wedding.
Although Zachary had shared his relationship on Facebook stories and everyone at York Corporation knew he was taken, he had not publicly announced his marriage.
Despite being aware of this, Remy chose to remain oblivious until Zachary decided to disclose his marital status.
Looking at Remy, Zachary asked, “Is it that obvious?”
Remy grinned. “Those who don’t know you well might not notice it since you usually maintain a deadpan expression, but that’s how you look when something is on your mind.”
Remy didn’t even have a girlfriend. In his younger days, he had a crush on a girl who sat in the front of the class. After high school, he applied to a different college and initially kept in touch with her, but when she got a boyfriend, Remy stopped reaching out.
Over the years, he diligently managed the subsidiary of FC & Co. while his love life remained nonexistent. He had yet to meet a girl who made his heart flutter. To Remy, he believed love would occur when the time was right. He was confident that his chance would come, that love would arrive unexpectedly, and he knew it could not be forced. He was waiting for the girl who would unexpectedly enter his life.
After a brief silence, Zachary said, “I trust you, Mr. Johnson, but as you mentioned, you’re single and might not understand how torn I feel right now. I’m hoping to speak with your brother.”
“Can you pass my message to Mr. Young-Johnson?”
Remy smiled and replied, “Of course. Do you want to meet my brother now?”
Zachary must have come all the way to FC Manor today to see him.
“It depends on Mr. Young-Johnson’s availability. I know it’s not a great time to bother him, especially since it’s just a day after his wedding.”
Zachary recognized that his visit was somewhat untimely and inappropriate, considering he had chosen to come the day after Ben’s wedding.
Remy checked the time and said, “My brother should be free. Let me ask him.”
He then took out his phone and called Ben. It didn’t take long for Ben to answer. After Remy relayed Zachary’s request to see him, Ben happily agreed to have a private chat.
