Chapter 808

“Ms. Hunt, regardless of the reasons Zachary was not honest about his identity, his feelings for you are genuine. He truly loves you, and there’s no doubt about that.”

Serenity began to laugh, her eyes filling with tears.

Wiping her eyes with her arm, Serenity stood up and said to Josh, “Thank you for clarifying that for me, Mr. Bucham. I should let you have your space now. Goodbye.”

With the confirmation she needed, Serenity was eager to leave this place as quickly as possible.

Without urging her to stay, Josh stood up and walked out with her. He said, “Ms. Hunt, I understand you’re in shock and upset right now. Zachary has wronged you, but he had his reasons. There’s no malicious intent behind his actions. Once you’ve calmed down, please give him a chance to explain. Remember, you’re husband and wife.”

Serenity remained silent, but her pained expression spoke volumes.

Josh accompanied Serenity to the ground floor and saw her off outside the office building before heading to his car.

“Seren.”

Callum was waiting at the entrance of the office building.

He had received an urgent call from his brother instructing him to prevent his sister-in-law from leaving. Zachary was on his way.

Confronted by Serenity’s fierce glare, Callum felt an immense amount of stress. He was Zachary’s best chance, as he was in the office while Zachary was away. Though Zachary was rushing, he hadn’t arrived yet, so Callum had to stop Serenity from leaving until he did.

Zachary was worried that Serenity might walk out of his life if she left the office building. Where would he ever find her then?

The sight of the Yorks only fueled Serenity’s anger. She had no desire to talk to any of them.

Determined, she strode past Callum.

Callum was cautious about not overstepping his boundaries with his sister-in-law, so he refrained from getting physical. He quickly stepped in front of Serenity, spreading his arms to block her path and said, “Don’t go, Seren. Zachary is on his way. He’ll be here soon.”

Serenity shot him a furious glare. In that moment, Callum couldn’t help but notice that his sister-in-law had the same icy stare as his brother. Was Serenity beginning to resemble Zachary now that they had been married for some time?

“Callum. Wait, no. Mr. Callum, please move aside.”

When Serenity added a title to his name, Callum forced a bitter smile. “Come on, Seren, I’m sorry. It’s all our fault.” He too had been part of the deception that misled Serenity. It wasn’t just him; the entire family had deceived her. It was no wonder Serenity was furious when she discovered the truth. Her eyes were as cold as a December winter, and her expression was thunderous.

“Mr. Callum, I insist you move! You’ll regret it if you don’t step aside now.”

Callum stood his ground. He had the heavy responsibility of persuading his sister-in-law to stay. Despite her intimidating demeanor, he knew his brother would unleash his wrath if Serenity wasn’t present when he arrived. Weighing his options, Callum decided that Serenity posed the lesser threat.

Suddenly, Serenity lunged at him with a punch. Callum was well-versed in fighting and swiftly dodged her attack. While he was evading, Serenity attempted to make a run for it, but Callum blocked her path again. She struck at him once more.

They exchanged blows in front of the office building, while onlookers maintained their distance, watching without intervening. Meanwhile, Josh was on his way to pick up Jasmine.

Upon hearing about the fight, he stopped the car, exited, and ran to intervene. Serenity was capable of taking down a group of thugs, but her years of self-defense training were ineffective against Josh and Callum. No matter how hard she tried to push past them, the two refused to move aside and would not allow her to leave.
