Chapter 812
Serenity stood up and headed to the kitchen.
As Zachary entered from outside, he caught a glimpse of her in the kitchen.
He remained silent.
Serenity didn’t cook much; she prepared just a simple plate of spaghetti and then emerged with it in her hands.
Upon seeing Zachary, she gave him a brief glance before ignoring him and heading to the table. She sat down and began eating.
Zachary worried she might refuse to eat or drink due to her anger.
However, when he saw her healthy appetite and how she savored the large plate of spaghetti, he felt conflicted.
He took a seat at the dining table and opened his mouth. “Seren…”
“Shut up! Don’t ruin my appetite.”
After being reprimanded by his wife, Zachary obediently fell silent.
Recognizing his fault, he set aside his ego and pride.
As he watched her eat, he felt hungry too.
However, he didn’t dare to leave, fearing she might take the opportunity to slip away.
He could only endure his hunger and silently watched her enjoy her spaghetti. Once she finished, she stood up with the plate and was about to leave.
“I’ll take care of it, Seren. I’ll wash the dishes for you.”
Zachary hurried over to help her clean up.
Serenity didn’t refuse. If he wanted to help, then he could. She placed the plate back on the table and left the room.
Once he confirmed she was sitting on the sofa and not going outside, Zachary entered the kitchen to wash the dishes.
He washed them as quickly as possible, along with some fruits, which he cut up and placed in a fruit bowl.
“Honey.”
A
“Don’t call me Honey!”
“Seren.”
address.
His wife was angry, and whatever she said was final.
“Have some fruit.”
Zachary brought the fruit bowl to Serenity.
“I’m full from all this anger. I can’t eat your fruit.”
Zachary’s hand holding the bowl froze, then he retracted it to place the bowl on the coffee table.
She had just eaten a large plate of spaghetti, so it was no surprise that she felt full.
“I’m sorry, Seren.”
Zachary sincerely apologized.
He looked miserable, a result of being scolded and bitten by Serenity.
When she lashed out, she had scratched his neck, leaving several bloody marks that swelled and appeared quite alarming.
She also left deep bite marks on him.
However, he didn’t mind; those were the marks his wife had branded on him. She had claimed him as her own!
“Tell me, why did you lie to me? You lied to me for more than four months!”
It had been over four months since their marriage.
“Seren, you know our marriage happened suddenly. In fact, I was pressured by Nana. She adores you and wants you to become her granddaughter-in-law, and as her eldest grandson, I was her target. She always said I lacked understanding of romance and would never find a wife without her intervention. That’s why she insisted I marry you.”
Serenity’s expression shifted.
So, he was forced to marry her.
No wonder he had been so guarded when they first wed.
“You saved Nana, and she mentioned wanting me to repay her for raising me, but I assumed it was your idea. I thought you were manipulative, seeking to marry into our family after hearing Nana praise her wonderful grandson.”
You can’t fault me for thinking of you in that manner. The primary reason for my concern is that his identity is a delicate topic. He is the heir to the wealthiest family in Wiltspoon and the leader of York Corporation. He possesses everything—status, appearance, wealth, and influence. This is why he suspected that she was interested in his money.
