Chapter 829
“I don’t want to lose Seren, Liberty. I don’t want a divorce.”
Zachary spoke first.
“I know I deceived Seren by hiding my identity. She is different from others; she won’t be happy just because I’m rich. I let her down, and she has every right to be angry. She can scold me and hit me, but she can’t leave me. She can’t divorce me!”
When Zachary finished speaking, Liberty responded, “Do you think that if you let her walk out of this villa, you will never see Seren again?”
He fell silent.
He was afraid—terrified that he would never see Serenity again if she left the villa.
“Zachary, Serenity is my sister. We have depended on each other for years, and no one knows her better than I do. She’s not the type to retreat or run away when things get tough. No matter how angry or upset she becomes, even if she asks for a divorce, she won’t just run away.
“Running away won’t solve anything.
“No matter how dire the situation is, you must face reality.
“Let her come back with me and stay at my place for a few days to cool off. Even if you insist she stays, once she makes a decision, the outcome will remain the same.”
Zachary remained quiet.
“Zachary, I never thought of you as overbearing or paranoid before, but this situation has revealed your true nature. You need to consider whether Serenity is willing to tolerate your domineering behavior. When you clutch a handful of sand, the harder you grip, the faster it slips through your fingers.
“It’s the same here. The more controlling you are, the more Serenity will want to leave you. The small bond you’ve built can’t withstand the pressure you’re applying. If you exhaust the little affection she has for you, then you will truly have no way of
“Do you want a Serenity full of life, or a soulless Serenity who resembles a walking corpse? Being overbearing and restricting her isn’t the answer.”

Liberty sighed again after finishing her statement. “Consider what I said. Go back to the house and grab some ice for your face. Seren went a bit too hard; half of your face is swollen.”
The usually quiet Zachary finally spoke, “I’m fine as long as her hand isn’t injured.”
Liberty was left speechless.
“Zachary, you need to understand the true meaning of love,” she replied before heading back inside.
Zachary did not follow her and remained where he was, his handsome face tense and rigid like marble, cold and unyielding. His thin lips formed a tight line.
His sister-in-law and Jasmine urged him to let Serenity have some space and take a break. They insisted she wasn’t the type to run off when things got tough.
Yet, he couldn’t take that risk!
Serenity had sent her sister away. When she noticed Zachary standing there, she merely glanced at him.
Brandt and the others, along with a hidden contingent of bodyguards, revealed themselves as Serenity stepped outside. She understood their presence was due to their concern that she might leave with her sister.
There was no way she could depart without Zachary’s consent.
Instead of following her sister, Serenity stood in the parking lot and watched as Liberty got into the car. She reassured her sister, encouraging her not to worry about her.
Liberty was certain Zachary wouldn’t harm Serenity, but…
“Seren, I’ll come back tomorrow,” Liberty said as she started the car.
Serenity nodded and waved goodbye to her sister. She continued watching Liberty drive away until the car was out of sight.
