Chapter 839

“To buy cows and pigs, you have to go all the way to the countryside, right? That’s too far. You don’t need to do that. I want large chickens and ducks. Buy more roosters that can already crow. With the roosters crowing at dawn each day, I’m sure it’ll annoy him.”

Jasmine replied, “Alright. Leave it to me. I’ll take care of it.”

It remained uncertain whether Zachary would relent after Serenity transformed his villa into a zoo.

“But Seren, do you think Mr. Zachary—the liar—will compromise? Furthermore, he likely has other villas. Will he take you to another one?”

Serenity paused for a moment before responding, “I have no idea how he’ll react either. Regardless, since he’s making things difficult for me, I’ll return the favor.”

“It seems you two are now adversaries.”

Feeling glum, Serenity stayed silent.

“I asked Josh to advise Mr. Zachary, but he suggested I advise you instead. He mentioned that Mr. Zachary had reasons for deceiving you. As the eldest grandson of the wealthy York family, he worries that people might be after his money. That’s why he hid his identity to gauge your character.”

Jasmine continued, “I rejected his reasoning. Since he’s Mr. Zachary’s best friend, he’ll undoubtedly defend him. But I’m your best friend, so I stand with you. Seren, I’m on your side no matter what you decide.”

Serenity remained quiet for a moment before saying, “It’s understandable that he concealed his identity at first, but our bond as a married couple developed later. We’re married, yet he continued to lie to me. That’s what truly infuriates me. I even question his feelings for me. Who can say if he genuinely loves me?”

Zachary’s charming voice echoed from outside.

Serenity said to her best friend, “Jas, we’ll chat again soon. That liar won’t stop knocking. I’m going to check it out.”

“Okay.”

After terminating the call, Serenity stood up from the couch, her expression cold. She then walked to the door and opened it.
