Serenity gazed at Elisa in silence.
Elisa remarked, “I’m feeling a bit fatigued from all this talking. I’m going to grab a glass of water. Would you like one?”

Elisa playfully pinched Serenity’s cheek, laughing. “We’re sisters, so no need to be so formal. You take great care of your face; it feels really nice to touch. Does Zachary enjoy touching your face?”
Serenity was taken aback.
Before she could respond, Elisa smiled and walked away.
She poured warm water for both of them.
As Serenity extended her injured hand to take the cup, Elisa instead brought it directly to Serenity’s lips and said gently, “I’ll feed you.”
“I can manage on my own. I might not be able to do much with my fingers wrapped like this, but I can still hold a glass of water.”
Despite her words, Serenity accepted Elisa’s kindness.
Once they both finished their water, Elisa sat back down and said, “That’s all I have to share for now. Please think about what I said. If you’re unwilling to change, then you need to be clear with Zachary. You two can end things early if he and his family cannot accept you.”
