Elizabeth Wilson added, "Neither the Lane family nor the Austins have made any announcement about Isabella Austin's death. Not a word has gotten out. I heard from people in the know that Isabella's ashes have already been buried in the Eastwood Cemetery, where most of the Austin ancestors are laid to rest. The funeral was small, barely anyone attended, and there was no public notice. I guess they didn't want the outside world to know about what happened between Isabella Austin and Matthew Ross."

"And I heard Isabella's mother fainted from crying twice at the funeral..."

Emily Blair listened, her expression calm. She nodded. "Alright, I understand." Tristan Davis caught the look in her eyes. "You still think there's something off?" Emily was silent for a moment before replying, "It's all speculation. There's no real evidence."

No one spoke after that. Emily finally said, "Let's head back for now."

It wasn't just the police investigating the drivers and kidnappers from the recent accidents-Emily and Tristan were conducting their own inquiries as well.

Emily's health still hadn't fully recovered. She went to work as usual, but never stayed late. Every day, she clocked out on time to go home and rest.

Three days passed before the police called.

The call came while Emily was in the middle of a meeting.

At first, she didn't think much of it. The police had been calling every couple of days

to ask routine questions, so Emily simply assumed it was another inquiry.

This meeting was important. Ever since their game, Rabbit Gang, had launched, player numbers had skyrocketed, far surpassing their initial targets. Online users were at an all-time high, and in-game purchases were booming.

But with the influx of players, bugs that hadn't shown up during testing had started cropping up, along with other issues that seriously affected the gaming experience. Some players had even started posting complaints on the official social media

accounts.

Emily had been in back-to-back meetings trying to get these problems sorted out.

The company moved quickly, offering generous compensation, and the players' enthusiasm remained high.

By now, Rabbit Gang had climbed into the top three mobile game downloads on every major app store.

Then, as of yesterday, Rabbit Gang was suddenly accused of plagiarizing another game, Travel Rabbit, which had launched a little earlier.

Travel Rabbit was a game released by Andrew Lane's company about a month ago.

The Lane Group's main business wasn't even in gaming; Travel Rabbit was just a small side project from one of their subsidiaries. It hadn't been heavily promoted, so much so that Emily hadn't even realized it had gone live.

She knew from inside sources that the game was actually a gift Andrew Lane had made for Isabella Austin, who loved black and white rabbits-so they'd used a black and white rabbit theme when launching the game.

For Andrew, the game was simply a present; he never expected it to turn a profit.

Despite the lack of internal support, the use of a major character IP had still attracted some players.

Emily only downloaded Travel Rabbit herself after the plagiarism scandal broke, and played about half of a level.

Both games were life-simulation games, and most aspects were actually quite different, but the plagiarism accusation against Rabbit Gang shot up the trending topics list. The comments were flooded with Travel Rabbit fans demanding justice, while marketing accounts amplified the drama, and the controversy just kept escalating.

This was why Emily was holding the meeting-to find a solution. The company immediately contacted the relevant platforms to get the plagiarism hashtag taken down from trending topics. Even so, Travel Rabbit's players had already flooded every major network with posts and videos. The situation was spiraling out of control and had to be dealt with fast.
