The three women exchanged quick glances.
"He's spoken for..."
"Is that woman his girlfriend? She's stunning."
"Stunning is an understatement. Look at her aura. She practically screams high- class intellect."
The woman who had just tried to ask for his WhatsApp muttered under her breath, "Never mind, I'd just be embarrassing myself."
Still, they couldn't help but stare. They quickly realized the incredibly handsome man didn't spare a single glance for anyone other than the woman sitting across from him.
One of the women secretly snapped a photo of lan and Eleanor, immediately posting it to her social media feed. "Just spotted a literal god-tier couple. The guy's silver-gray hair is absolutely unreal!"
Just then, the waiter brought over the packaged desserts Eleanor had ordered, and the couple stood up to leave.
The woman who posted the photo checked her phone. Being a social butterfly, her feed had blown up in mere minutes.
"Holy crap, isn't that lan Goodwin, the CEO of Goodwin & Co.?"
"Oh my god! lan Goodwin, the wealthiest man in Ashford City!"
"Yes, that's him! The gray hair is his signature."
"And the woman with him is his ex-wife! Eleanor Sutton, a total powerhouse in medical research."
The woman's eyes widened in shock. "Damn, that gorgeous guy was Mr. Goodwin himself, and the woman beside him is his ex-wife."
The three women exchanged another round of excited looks. One of them teased, "And you almost went up to ask for his number."
"Stop, please stop. I want the ground to swallow me whole."
"But honestly, they look so perfect together! No wonder their vibe was so
intimidating. We regular folks couldn't even breathe their air."
Meanwhile, inside the car, Eleanor casually enjoyed her tiramisu. While waiting at a
red light, she lifted a spoonful and fed it to the man beside her.
They arrived home at nine-thirty. Joslyn asked if Eleanor wanted
anything to eat. When Eleanor net
mentioned they had already eaten out Joslyn tactfully retired to her. room for the night.
As Eleanor looked down to unbox another dessert, lan stepped up beside her. "Evelyn isn't home tonight," he murmured, his tone casual, as if just mentioning it in passing.
Eleanor scooped up a spoonful of sweet cream and glanced at him. "Yes, I know."
The man wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder. "Then tonight... want to sleep in my room?"
Eleanor's hand paused. Before she could say anything, his voice dropped an octave. "Help me check the post-op results. If there's an
issue, I can seek immediate treatment."
Eleanor's face flushed with a sudden heat. "Can't you check yourself?"
"Checking myself isn't accurate," he said, a hint of playful coaxing in his tone. "I need professional guidance."
Eleanor looked into the eyes so close to hers. They were filled with tenderness, anticipation, and a dark, simmering desire.
Her heart skipped a beat. She gave a soft reply, "Alright. Go take a shower first."
lan smiled, pressing a kiss to her hair. "Okay. I'll wait for you."
After a few more bites, Eleanor put the dessert back in the fridge and headed upstairs. Half an hour later, a text from lan popped up on her phone: "I'm waiting."
Draping a coat over her shoulders,
Eleanor went downstairs and
stepped into the living room next door in the dim light, a tall figure rose from the sofa. Before she could react, she was pulled into a broad, warm embrace.
"You came."
