A wave of relief washed over her.

But the moment her eyes swept over Juliet, sitting next to Anastasia, her pupils contracted sharply.

Seeing Yolanda, Marcus's brow furrowed for a second, and the handsome, easy smile on his face vanished.

He stood up. "What are you doing here?"

"Why can't I be here?" Yolanda's attention was uncontrollably fixed on Juliet. "You're having dinner with your friends, why didn't you invite me?"

Marcus gave a faint smile. "You don't know them. Why would I ask you to come?"

"You could have introduced me, then we'd know each other!" Yolanda shot back. "Marcus, you just don't want to be seen with me, do you!"

Her sharp tone made Marcus frown again.

Yolanda used to be so understanding. What was wrong with her today?

A flicker of impatience crossed his mind. "Can you please not cause a scene?"

Before Yolanda could reply, he grabbed her hand and said to Anastasia and the others, "Something's come up. We'll have to do this again some other time."

With that, he pulled her out of the room.

Anastasia watched them go, a thoughtful expression on her face.

Compared to last time, Marcus seemed much colder toward Yolanda.

She turned to Tyrone. "What's going on with Marcus and his fiancée?"

Tyrone didn't hide anything from her. "He caused quite a stir at home when he got back from Fairhaven. I guess it's taken a toll on their relationship."

Anastasia raised an eyebrow.

When Marcus was investigating who had poisoned him, the evidence he had pointed directly at Yolanda. She had thought it was over for her, but it had only 'taken a toll on their relationship'?

Yolanda was clearly a woman not to be underestimated.

With Marcus gone, the rest of them decided to call it a night.

As they left the restaurant, Anastasia noticed Juliet's strange expression.

"Juliet, what's wrong?" she asked with concern.

"It's nothing... I just feel like Mr.

Anastasia's gaze sharpened. "Familiar?"

Juliet had been in Fairhaven all this time and had no connection to Yolanda. How could she seem familiar?

Suddenly, Anastasia remembered

She narrowed her eyes slightly.

When she got home, she asked Harrison about it.

"How much do you know about Marcus's fiancée?"

"Why are you asking about her?" Harrison had just finished a call and put his phone

away, pulling her into his arms.

"Just curious," Anastasia said. "Do you know anything?"

Harrison wasn't close with Yolanda, but he did know a few things.

"She was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Lockwood."

"Adopted?" Anastasia was surprised.

"Yes." Harrison nodded. "Mr. and Mrs. Lockwood couldn't have children. They were well into middle age without an heir, so they adopted a daughter from an orphanage. That was Yolanda."

so

Anastasia grew thoughtful and pressed further, "Which orphanage?"

That, Harrison didn't know. "I'll have someone look into it for you."

"Okay," Anastasia said immediately.

She had a feeling that finding out which orphanage Yolanda came from might uncover a secret.

But before she could get any answers, she received a call from Juliet.

"Anastasia, I remember who Mr. Jackson's fiancée looks like!"
