Remington shot Cedric a warning glare, but Cedric wasn't intimidated in the slightest. He called out loudly.

"Boss's lady, the boss and I are in the car!"

Lizetta was completely speechless.

Feeling her cheeks instantly heat up, she hung up the phone without another word.

Flustered, she tossed the phone aside, contemplating whether she should send him a sticker of someone getting punched. Just then, she acutely felt a gaze boring into her.

Lizetta snapped her head up, looking straight at the door.

The door was firmly shut, and the small viewing window was entirely empty. Nothing looked suspicious.

She scanned the room again but didn't notice anything out of place.

Considering the entire floor had been taken over by Remington's trusted security team, and every doctor and nurse allowed in had been strictly vetted, it was highly unlikely someone had slipped past.

She figured her nerves were just shot from the incident at the lake, causing her to imagine things.

She slipped out of bed, splashed some cold water on her face in the bathroom, and headed next door to check on Fiona.

But when she tried to push the door open, she found it locked from the inside. Surprised, Lizetta knocked twice.

She heard some shuffling inside before Tina finally came over to unlock it.

"Oh, Mrs. Dashiell, please come in."

Lizetta stepped inside, asking casually, "Why was the door locked? Was Fiona resting?"

"The old lady accidentally spilled something on her gown and had to change, so she asked me to lock the door. She's doing wonderfully! Especially after hearing that you and Mr. Dashiell made up, her appetite has completely returned."

Fiona was sitting on her bed, struggling with the very last button on her hospital gown.

The moment she saw Lizetta, a huge smile broke across her face.

"Liz! Come chat with me. I'm dying of boredom in here."

Lizetta walked over, sat on the edge of the bed, and expertly fastened the button Fiona had been

fumbling with She smoothed out the collar

before speaking.

"If you're bored, Fiona, I can ask the nurses to move my things in here so I can stay with you."

She pointed to the empty companion bed nearby.

"It's perfect. I haven't slept in the same room with you in ages. We can stay up and chat."

"That sounds wonderful..."

Fiona's eyes lit up, and she nodded eagerly. But then, her expression suddenly shifted.

"I'd love that, but knowing that stubborn brat Remington... If he comes back from running an errand and finds out I stole you away, he'll throw a fit."

Lizetta laughed. "He wouldn't dare! If he ever tried giving you attitude, I'll beat him up for you."

Fiona lovingly patted Lizetta's soft hands, her eyes brimming with affection.

"He wouldn't dare show it to my face, but he'd definitely be grumbling in his head about his old grandma

getting in the way Never mind, never mind. I'm too old to be a nuisance."

Fiona waved her hand dismissively, but Lizetta stared at her, utterly shocked.

"Fiona, what are you talking about? Your self-awareness is completely off! You are everyone's favorite person the absolute pillar of our family. When have you ever been nuisance? We all love you the most."

Fiona laughed out loud at Lizetta's exaggerated shock and sweet words.

Just then, a loud thud echoed from the direction of the bathroom, like something heavy hitting the floor.

Lizetta instinctively turned her head toward the sound.
