"I have to go. I'll be back to see you at noon. Be good," Bennett said, touching his chin.

Yvonne had just bitten him there, leaving a red tooth mark that stung slightly.

"You're being mischievous again.”

Yvonne snuggled under the covers, smiling like a sly fox who had gotten her way.

Bennett put on his shirt and trousers, went into the bathroom to quickly wash up, and then walked out of the bedroom.

Helen had just finished making breakfast and was feeding Bullet. Seeing Bennett emerge from the room, she greeted him with a smile, "Good morning, sir."

"Morning," Bennett responded with a nod.

"Are you heading back to the base, sir? Breakfast is ready. You should eat before you go," Helen added.

"I'm in a hurry, I'll skip it. Could you please make Yvonne a nourishing broth for when she wakes up?" Bennett said. He changed his shoes at the entryway and hurried out.

The drive from Cherry Bay to Mercy Temple took an hour.

When Bennett arrived at the temple gates, Emma's car was already parked by the roadside.

After parking his car, Bennett got out and strode towards the black Maybach.

The window on one side of the car lowered.

Emma looked out at her son.

Bennett was wearing a black cashmere coat, looking tall and composed. Even without his uniform, he carried the distinct, formidable aura of a soldier.

"What took you so long?" Emma asked with a frown.

"I'm not late, am I?" Bennett glanced at his watch and replied nonchalantly.

Emma shot him a look. From her angle, she could clearly see the bite mark on his chin.

"You're hurt again?” Emma reached out to touch his chin.

Bennett instinctively turned his head away. He touched the mark on his chin and mumbled, "I just bumped it."

Emma had been around the block and immediately understood what had happened.

The mark on Bennett's chin was clearly from a woman's bite during a night of passion.

Her face hardened, and she glared at him.

"You knew you were coming to Mercy Temple today, and you still spent last night fooling around with a woman. Bennett, you're almost thirty. How can you be so reckless?"

"How am I being reckless?" Bennett asked, exasperated.

"If you weren't, you wouldn't be messing around with that starlet,” Emma snapped.

“It's a normal relationship. Why do you call it messing around?" Bennett's gaze grew colder.

"Bennett, you're thirty now, not in your twenties when you could afford to be foolish. What you need is wife who Is of a similar age from a good family, who can manage your household, handle social obligations, and bear your children."

"That starlet is ten years younger than you and isn't even of legal age to marry. When can you two get married? When can she give you a child? Can you really afford to waste your time with her?" S to'FindNovel.net

Emma clutched her chest, feeling a sharp pain from her anger.

Bennett was a soldier with a dangerous job. If something were to happen to him one

day, he couldn't just leave without an heir.

Even if Emma could overlook Yvonne's background, the age gap was huge.

A girl not yet twenty was still in her

playful years. As an actress, she

wouldn't easily agree to get married

during the peak of her career.

Bennett couldn't let her hold him

back.
