Vincent's frustration boiled over. "A kidney transplant? You make it sound so easy. Whose kidney are we talking about? Yours?"

Back when the Rogers family was in power, Yolanda could get any kidney she wanted. But now, with the Rogers family gone and the Walkers under intense scrutiny, it was pure fantasy for Mrs. Walker and Yolanda to still be thinking this way.

"I had surgery for kidney stones. How could I give a kidney to Yolanda?" Mrs. Walker said.

She and Yolanda shared the same blood type, but Mrs. Walker had undergone surgery for kidney stones in her youth, making donation impossible. Besides, with the Rogers family's support back then, her kidney had never been needed.

“Then whose do you want? You've been running around to every hospital. Have you found a suitable one?" Vincent asked with a sneer.

Mrs. Walker had been searching every hospital for a suitable donor for Yolanda, but she'd had no luck.

Istra was a sprawling metropolis, and people were dying in hospitals every day. But Yolanda had a rare blood type, and not many people shared it. Even if she found someone, a successful match wasn't guaranteed. And then there were stubborn families like that of the woman who had just given birth, who simply refused to cooperate.

“I..... I did find a suitable one," Mrs. Walker said in a low voice.

Vincent was clearly stunned. Had she really just stumbled upon a match by pure, dumb luck?

"Since you've found one, go and negotiate with the family. Offer them more money, and don't leave any loose ends for someone to use against us," Vincent said.

Mrs. Walker's lips moved, but she hesitated, looking like she wanted to say something more.

Seeing her expression, Vincent immediately understood. "The donor you found... they're not dead, are they?"

"She's a pregnant woman, twenty weeks along. But she has a heart condition. Maybe something will... happen during childbirth...”

"Shut your mouth!" Vincent cut her off sharply before she could finish.

Mrs. Walker didn't say the words aloud, but the malice in her implication was crystal clear to Vincent She wanted to arrange an "accident" during the woman's labor, cause her death, and then harvest her organs.

If the Rogers family were still around, such an operation would be entirely possible

in one of their hospitals. But without them, and with the Walkers under a federal microscope, Mrs. Walker was digging her own grave.

"I'm warning you, don't do anything reckless, or you'll drag the whole family down with you," Vincent warned.

"But what about Yolanda?" Mrs. Walker couldn't help but ask.

"If she's sick, then she needs proper medical treatment. Find the best doctors. Once

the heat dies down, I'll figure something out,” Vincent said dismissively.

Just as he finished speaking, his phone rang.

Vincent pulled it out, glanced at the caller ID, and hurried away.

Mrs. Walker watched his retreating back, her expression growing colder by the second.

No sooner had Vincent left than the sound of things smashing came from the upstairs bedroom again.

Mrs. Walker rushed upstairs and into the bedroom to find that Yolanda had once again destroyed everything in the room. Even her favorite figurines and dolls were smashed and cut to pieces, littering the floor in a sea of debris.

Yolanda was slumped amidst the wreckage, screaming and roaring hysterically.

"What is it with Yolanda now?" Mrs. Walker asked, her head throbbing.

"Miss... Miss Yolanda, she's only passed urine once all day," the maid said, her voice trembling.

With her declining kidney function, urination was becoming increasingly difficult for Yolanda, and the

her body was get

swelling in hert

worse. If her condition wasn't

controlled, she would soon need

dialysis to survive.

But Yolanda refused to follow any conventional treatment plan; she was dead set on

getting another transplant.
