After Yvonne spent a few minutes cooing and playing with her, Coralie started to

yawn.

For a one-month-old baby, life was mostly about feeding, sleeping, and filling her diapers.

Seeing the baby was getting drowsy, the maternity nurse walked over.

Yvonne handed Coralie Thompson to the nurse and watched as she carried the baby back to the nursery.

Just as Yvonne stood up from the sofa, she saw Bennett Thompson push the door open and walk in.

He was still in his military uniform, having likely come straight from the base without a chance to change.

"You're back early today?" Yvonne asked, her eyes curving into a smile.

"Yeah, I just came from Grandfather's. I heard Cynthia gave birth last night—a healthy eight-pound boy," Bennett said.

Cynthia's due date was a month after Yvonne's, so it was indeed her time.

Yvonne smiled. “Grandfather must be thrilled. He finally has a great-grandson."

"He is," Bennett chuckled, then continued, "The old-timers still have those archaic views about needing a male heir. But anything Cynthia's son gets, our Coralie will have too. Grandfather won't show any favoritism, even if he feels it.”

Bennett was the future head of the Thompson family, so no matter what Mr. Thompson Sr. truly thought, he would be sure to treat everyone fairly on the surface.

When Noah Thompson's son was born yesterday, Mr. Thompson Sr. had sent his aide to visit and gifted them a house.

Today, Mr. Thompson Sr. had summoned Bennett and gave him a house as well, a gift for Coralie. Its value was comparable to the one Noah's son received.

In truth, Bennett didn't need another property. But Mr. Thompson Sr.'s commitment to fairness was a reassuring gesture.

"Cynthia should still be in the hospital. Should we go visit?" Yvonne asked.

During Yvonne's own postpartum recovery, Cynthia had made a point to visit her despite being heavily pregnant. She had always treated her like a sister.

"My parents have already gone. It's too late today, but I'll go with you to the hospital tomorrow. Cynthia had a C-section, so she'll be there for a week," Bennett said.

Because of a previous miscarriage, Cynthia had been exceptionally careful this, pregnancy. She might have overindulged in rich tonics during the pregnancy, as the baby grew too large for anaturarbiah, forcing her to opt for a C-section. It was said to have been quite an ordeal.

Their `Coralie, on the other hand, had been good to her mother and spared her from too much suffering.

"Okay," Yvonne nodded, walking over to help Bennett take off his jacket.

"Aren't you thoughtful?" Bennett watched her with a smile as she hung the jacket on

a nearby coat rack.

"I heard Vincent was arrested. Any progress on that front?" Yvonne asked.

Bennett replied, "You're well-informed."

Yvonne said, "Sandra told me."

Sandra Garcia had been closely following the Walker family's case. With the connections her late husband had left her and her own. years in the entertainment industry her network was naturally extensive.

Sandra was now desperate to see Vincent brought to justice. It would bring a sense of closure for her deceased husband and their unborn child, and for herself as well.

"Both Vincent and April Martinez have been arrested. With Yolanda Walker dead, we finally made a

breakthrough with Mrs. Walker, ne

She's confessed to most of it, and the investigation team has secured the majority of the evidence. The higher-ups are watching this case closely, so it should be closed soon. It'll likely be a public trial. You can go and watch if you want."

Bennett loosened the tie around his neck as he spoke.

Yvonne nodded. She would definitely attend Vincent's public trial.

Sandra needed closure for her husband and unborn child. And Yvonne wanted closure for the person she was in her past life.
