As dawn broke the next day, Charlie said his goodbyes to Orrin Sun and Angie, with Stefanie Sun kindly driving him to the airport.
The Eastcliff Road was smooth and quiet in the early morning light, but Stefanie Sun intentionally drove at a leisurely pace, even as cars whizzed by her.
The reason for her slow driving was clear: Stefanie Sun was genuinely reluctant to part ways with Charlie.
Understanding her feelings, Charlie chose not to pressure her to drive faster.
While lost in her thoughts, Stefanie Sun turned to Charlie and asked, “By the way, Charlie, will you be visiting Eastcliff again soon?”
Charlie paused for a moment before answering, “I plan to meet with the professional management team of the Wade family once they’re ready with their report. However, I’m not certain if I’ll return to Eastcliff. It might be easier for them to come to Aurous Hill and present their findings to me there.”
Stefanie Sun responded softly, “I might be quite busy in April. I have several concerts in China coming up, and then starting next month, I’ll be going on an overseas concert tour. I probably won’t be in China for a long time…”
Curious, Charlie asked, “How many concerts do you have planned?”
Stefanie Sun replied, “Right now, there are 15 scheduled, but that number is still growing.”
Charlie, puzzled, inquired, “Why is it still increasing?”
With a playful pout, Stefanie Sun explained, “There’s a huge demand from overseas fans since it’s my final farewell concert. Many fans are requesting additional host cities. My agency discussed it with me, and they said it’s ultimately up to my decision. It’s difficult to turn down so many requests, so I’ve added a few more shows in Europe and America.”
She continued, “Oh, and there’s one in Northern Europe scheduled for June as well.”
Charlie smiled and said, “Then I’ll have to send Helena to cheer you on!”
Stefanie Sun quickly replied, “No, that’s not necessary! She’s about to ascend the throne and become queen, so attending a concert wouldn’t be appropriate.”
“Why not?” Charlie chuckled. “Don’t British royals often take their families to football games? Helena is young and just coming into her role. If she puts on too much of a royal facade too soon, it could be counterproductive. It’s important for her to connect with the people and gain positive exposure, so that by the time she’s in her 50s or 60s, she’ll be a beloved queen.”
Stefanie Sun couldn’t help but smile and teased, “Charlie, the way you put it makes it sound like you’re more interested in having Helena attend to bask in my spotlight than to actually cheer for me…”
She quickly added, “Just kidding! Don’t take that seriously; I’m not the jealous type.”
Charlie laughed, “Much like the British prince, who, despite being loved by many, isn’t as popular as football or pop stars. He attends those games to rally fans; it’s all about staying in the limelight.”
Stefanie Sun nodded, then asked, “So, Charlie, do you think Helena has feelings for you?”
Surprised, Charlie responded, “What makes you say that?”
Stefanie Sun replied earnestly, “You saved her life, rescued her mother, and even helped her reclaim her throne. That’s like bringing her from the depths of the Mariana Trench to the heights of Mount Everest. Any normal woman would have feelings for you after all that…”
Feeling a bit awkward, Charlie said, “That’s up to her…”
Stefanie Sun gave him a knowing look and said, “During the ancestor worship ceremony for the Wade family, it seems your close friends were quite numerous…”
Charlie vaguely replied, “They’re just friends… ordinary friends…”
Stefanie Sun raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced, and remarked, “Just so you know, I’m not the jealous type. But if anyone wants to be your partner in the future, they better watch out. Jealousy can be a dangerous game.”
Feeling a bit embarrassed, Charlie quickly changed the topic, asking, “By the way, when do you plan to head overseas?”
