Charlie and Lin Wan’er (Alani) had a smooth return trip.
Their plane took off right on schedule at 8:30 AM and touched down in Aurous Hill precisely at 11:00 AM.
By noon, the two were in a hurry to get back to Purple Mountain Villa. During the journey, Lin Wan’er (Alani) carefully cradled the young plant of the mother of Pu Cha, determined not to let it out of her sight.
Once they arrived at the villa, Lin Wan’er (Alani) requested that everyone stay away for a while. She and Charlie headed straight to the top-floor courtyard to start replanting the young mother of Pu Cha tea plants.
As she surveyed the yard, Lin Wan’er (Alani) noted that if the other trees were left uncut, the open space next to the hot spring pool would be the best spot for planting.
She pointed to the area and remarked to Charlie, “Based on the usual growth rate of tea trees, this space should suffice for a tea tree to thrive for around ten to eight years. However, I’m uncertain how quickly the mother of Pu Cha grows. If it reaches a certain size and the soil here becomes insufficient, we may need to find a different location.”
Charlie smiled and reassured her, “Let’s not worry about that for now. For the time being, let’s plant it here. It’s strong enough to survive a few relocations in this life. We can always consider moving it later. Once you take over the Zhicheng Group and revamp Erlang Mountain, we might transplant it there.”
Lin Wan’er (Alani) shook her head, insisting, “This tree belongs to the young master. I’m merely caring for it on your behalf. If it can’t stay here in the future, I will move it to wherever you direct.”
Charlie responded earnestly, “You have the longest relationship with it. The decision of where to plant it in the future should rest with you.”
Lin Wan’er (Alani) nodded, affirming, “Everyone in my family listens to the master.”
With that, she grabbed a small gardening shovel and began digging a hole about the size of a basketball in the soil next to the hot spring pool. She gently placed the roots of the mother of Pu Cha into the hole, filled it with the soil she had just excavated, and then fetched a wooden ladle to scoop some room-temperature water from the tank near the hot spring pool, pouring it carefully around the newly planted roots.
As the noon sun bathed the delicate green leaves in light, they appeared almost translucent. Lin Wan’er (Alani) gazed at the perfectly shaped green leaves, her expression filled with admiration.
Charlie observed the seedling with curiosity, noting, “It grew so quickly last night, and the two missing leaves have returned to their original state without me even noticing. But why does it seem like it hasn’t changed much now?” Lin Wan’er (Alani) explained, “Perhaps it has expended all its energy in breaking through the soil, and now it will enter a prolonged period of slow growth. After all, it takes thirty years for a Pu’er tea tree to mature.”
Charlie nodded in understanding, “What benefits do its current leaves hold for ordinary people? They’re worth a blood-spreading heart-saving pill and are considered a rare treasure for ascetics. Unlike the pills, which can’t transform into spiritual energy within the body, these tea leaves naturally contain spiritual energy, which is incredibly valuable.”
“Even though I can refine many elixirs, only Peiyuan Dan can enhance spiritual energy. Other elixirs primarily heal injuries or extend life,” he continued. “However, refining Peiyuan Dan is quite complex, with a high demand for various materials. Producing it in bulk for a consistent supply is simply impractical.”
He added, “Once this tea tree matures, with the typical yield of a Pu’er tea tree, it could produce hundreds of thousands of buds daily. If it retains its spiritual energy properties by then, it will be an immense source of wealth. With such a steady supply of spiritual energy, it could even help establish a sect.”
Lin Wan’er (Alani) asked excitedly, “Doesn’t that mean with it, the young master will surely be able to defeat Sara and Po Qing Hui in the future?”
Charlie replied seriously, “Sara is incredibly strong. After all, she has opened her Niwan Palace, which means she and I are not even in the same realm.”
