Elaine was on the brink of a breakdown.

She couldn’t gather the two million dollars, and to make matters worse, she had shattered her five million dollar jade bangle. It was a devastating blow!

Fuming, she turned to Gianna, shouting in a frenzy, “You! You didn’t donate your money! Return my money! Hand it all back or I swear I’ll kill you! I’ll f*cking kill you!”

Gianna, trembling on the floor, cried out, “I don’t have any money! I’m broke! I’ve only got about sixty thousand in my savings. If you want it, I’ll transfer it all to you…”

In a fit of rage, Elaine slapped her and growled, “I don’t believe you! Show me your bank balance! Now!”

“I swear I’m telling the truth! I earn just over two thousand a month. If I was wealthy, I wouldn’t have teamed up with Linda to scam people…”

She quickly retrieved her phone, opened her banking app, and displayed her balance to Elaine. It indeed showed only sixty-three thousand dollars.

Elaine nearly lost her composure.

What could she possibly do with sixty-three thousand dollars?!

She had lost a hundred times that amount!

Fuming, Elaine directed her anger at Charlie, bellowing, “It’s all your fault! Why did you allow them to donate the money? Why didn’t you make them pay me back?!”

Charlie, clearly annoyed, replied in a flat tone, “Mom, I just saved your life. Nothing is more important than that!”

“Ugh!” Elaine stomped her foot in frustration, “I don’t need you to save my life! I want my money back! What’s the point of living if my money is gone? Give it back! Now!”

Charlie rolled his eyes, choosing to ignore her outburst.

He had intentionally let her lose the money to teach her a lesson; without it, she would only land herself in deeper trouble in the future.

He didn’t care if she faced dire consequences; he just didn’t want Claire to be upset.

Observing the chaotic scene, Albert felt a mix of agitation over Elaine’s irrational behavior and sympathy for Charlie.

What kind of mother-in-law was she? How could she still be causing a scene after he had just saved her life?!

Albert glared at her, indignantly rebuking, “Listen, I’m warning you! Don’t think you can disrespect Master Wade just because you’re his mother-in-law! If you don’t calm down, I’ll send you to the coal mine with them!”

Elaine was taken aback by his booming voice. She suppressed her anger and muttered defensively, “It’s none of your business.”

Then, pointing at Charlie, she declared, “Do you realize this guy is a total liar? You’re being duped by him. He’s using you as a weapon and a shield! One day, when you wake up, you’ll be the one to take him down!”

Albert’s fury boiled over. He slapped her and shouted, “If you dare to create rifts between me and Master Wade again, I’ll make you regret it!”

Elaine crouched in fear.

She understood just how formidable Albert was. If she pushed him, her life would be in serious jeopardy, so she took a step back and fell silent.

Albert positioned himself protectively in front of Charlie and, with a heavy heart, said, “Master Wade, I’m truly upset and angry on your behalf! I need to express something, even if it might offend you!”

He raised his voice slightly and blurted, “As a man with immense power and capability, why would you want to remain the son-in-law of this shrew? Even if you and your wife are deeply in love, there’s no justification for allowing someone like her to exist! She has disrespected you time and again. You should just eliminate her!”
