When Celeste arrived at the restaurant, she discovered that Jordyn was alone in the private room. Trevor was nowhere to be seen.

Jordyn sighed and said, "Dad got a phone call and said he had something to take care of, so he left."

Celeste simply responded with a hum and didn't ask any further questions. It made no difference to her whether Trevor came or not.

After resting over the weekend, Monday came again.

Celeste spent most of her time at Fleming Group.

Since CodeFlux and Fleming Group had only recently begun working together, she occasionally ran into Quentin.

Celeste and her team finished their work by noon on Wednesday. Jericho, an executive of Fleming Group, wanted to treat Celeste and her team to lunch.

Celeste politely declined. "I already have plans for lunch today. Maybe next time." "Alright, next time then."

While she was speaking with Jericho, Quentin and his team were nearby as well. So, Jericho extended an invitation to the CodeFlux team. They accepted it naturally. At that moment, Quentin informed his supervisor that he already had plans and wouldn't be able to join them for lunch.

When they reached the ground floor, the group split up and went their separate ways.

Celeste got into her car and left first.

After arriving at her destination, she called Zachary and asked where he was.

Yes, the person she was having lunch with today was Zachary. Of course, there was also one of his friends.

After learning that Zachary had arrived, she got out of the car. She spotted him and his friend before long.

Walking over, she greeted Zachary. "Prof."

Zachary nodded and then introduced the friend standing beside him.

Celeste shook hands with the man and exchanged greetings. After a brief round of pleasantries, they were about to head into the restaurant when they unexpectedly ran into Wynn and Quentin.

Both Wynn and Quentin froze for a moment.

After coming back to her senses, Wynn stepped forward politely and greeted Zachary. "Mr. Newman."

Zachary glanced at her before simply walking past them, showing no reaction whatsoever.

However, Zachary's friend knew who Wynn was.

Seeing Zachary's attitude, he smiled and said, "Ms. Locket is the girlfriend of the CEO of Fleming Group. What's with that reaction when she politely greeted you? As I know, you're not usually like this with younge people."

He had known Zachary for many, years. Although he had a lofty position and often came across as proud, he wasn't actually rude or the

sort of person who refused to acknowledge those beneath him.

Under normal circumstances, he would at least nod in response if someone he didn't know greeted him politely.

This was the first time he had ever seen Zachary completely ignore someone.

"I don't like her." Zachary's answer was brief and to the point.

His friend hadn't waited until they were out of earshot to ask the question. So, the exchange could be said to have taken place right in front of Wynn.

And Zachary's friend didn't seem the least bit worried about whether Wynn could hear it. Or perhaps he simply didn't care whether she heard it or not.

Celeste had heard of Zachary's friend long ag,o although this was her first time meeting him.

She knew he was a highly capable and influential figure with an exceptionally powerful background. The only thing was that he had a somewhat carefree personality.

Despite being nearly 40 years old, he remained spoiled and unruly, completely unafraid of offending anyone.

However, hearing about him was one thing. Celeste realized that the rumors had actually understated him after seeing him in person.

When she heard him ask Zachary such a question right in front of Wynn, even she was momentarily stunned.

However, she kept quiet. As the youngest among them, she obediently followed behind the two men.
