Mrs. Lewis knew her niece's situation all too well. Hearing this, her face was a mask of disbelief. "Really?"
"Of course, it's real!" Celia nodded emphatically. "That's why I'm telling you, Miss Gonzales is a miracle worker! When she gave me the prescription, she told me that to heal my body, I had to tear it down to build it back up. I didn't understand what she meant then, but now I think the 'tearing down' was how I felt when I first started the treatment, and the 'building up' is how I feel now!"
Despite Celia's conviction, Mrs. Lewis was still wary. "Are you sure some herbalist from Eldermere is really that skilled?"
Celia pressed on. "After Alice was born, my seizures went from once every few months to every ten days or so. But since I started taking the medicine from Miss Gonzales, I haven't had a single seizure in two weeks. You can ask Jennifer if you don't believe me."
Alice was the daughter Celia had nearly died giving birth to six months ago.
At this, Mrs. Lewis turned to Jennifer. "Jennifer, is Celia lying?"
Jennifer froze for a moment before it registered. Aside from the incontinence, Celia truly hadn't had a seizure in the past two weeks.
"Mrs. Lewis, Miss Palmer is telling the truth."
Mrs. Lewis's brow furrowed. She still couldn't believe someone from Eldermere could possess such ability. "Alright, Celia, how about this? Since you have so much faith in this Miss Gonzales, let's go to the hospital and get you checked out properly."
Celia nodded. "Of course, Aunt."
They were in a car and on their way to the hospital moments later.
This was a premier Valerium-run hospital. All the medical staff had been recruited from Valerium, and even the equipment was
air freighted from there. If it were any other facility, Mrs. Lewiso wouldn't have dared bring Celia for an examination.
When the hospital director heard that Mrs. Lewis was bringing Celia in, he personally waited at the entrance to greet them.
"Mrs. Lewis, Miss Palmer," the director said, bowing respectfully. "Which of you isn't feeling well?"
"It's my niece
Mrs. Lewis said,
stepping forward. "You know Celia's
condition. Two weeks ago, she took a course of traditional Eldermere remedies prescribed by a local
heater This healer claimed that Celia
would be fully recovered in
fortnight. We're here today to see
how she's doing."

The director looked up at Mrs. Lewis, his expression incredulous. "Mrs. Lewis, did you say traditional medicine from Eldermere?"
"Yes, that's correct," Mrs. Lewis affirmed.
The director burst out laughing. "Impossible! Absolutely impossible! The idea that some quack from Eldermere could cure Miss Palmer is absurd. What a shameless boast."
It was pure fantasy. The director was intimately familiar with Celia's case. It wasn't just that Eldermere lacked a cure; even with Valerium's ат advanced medical technology, her condition was considered incurable. What could Eldermere possibly offer?
He continued condescendingly, "What are the people of Eldermere good for,
besides trying to claim Dr. Oracle as their own and stealing our credit?"
