"Fine, fine, I'll turn around," Skyler said, his eyes narrowing. "I told you my uncle doesn't date, but you won't believe me. Today, I'll make you eat your words."
With that, he made a U-turn and headed back the way they came.
Soon enough, they spotted Gordon's figure on the sidewalk. And there was someone with him. They were walking side-by-side, looking very close.
Ike's voice was filled with excitement. "See! Look! I told you Master Ninth was dating, and you didn't believe me! Now do you believe me?"
Skyler was equally shocked. Just as Ike had said, his uncle wasn't alone. From this distance, he could see the person next to him was wearing a black polka-dot dress.
Could it be that his uncle was secretly dating behind his back?
*Well, well, well!*
His uncle claimed to be against marriage! He said he would never spend money on a woman he wasn't related to! Was he dating for free?
The thought of finally having something to hold over Gordon's head thrilled Skyler. At the same time, he was incredibly curious about what kind of woman could
make an untouchable god like his uncle descend to the mortal realm.
Skyler slammed his foot on the accelerator and sped toward them.
*Screech!*
With a piercing squeal of tires, the car skidded to a halt beside Gordon. Skyler jumped out, rushed in front of his uncle to block his path, and grinned mischievously. "Caught you, Uncle! Is this your girlfriend?"
Gordon shot him a withering glare. "What girlfriend?"
"I caught you red-handed and you're still denying it..." Skyler's words trailed off as
he finally got a clear look. His jaw dropped.
The figure Gordon was holding hands with... wasn't a person at all.
It was a giant dog. A massive Dalmatian.
The huge dog was panting, its pink tongue lolling out, looking at Skyler with an expression of pure innocence.
Skyler turned to look at Ike.
Ike was just as dumbfounded. He could have sworn he saw Master Ninth holding a girl's hand. How did a person turn into a dog in the blink of an eye? fke smacked his own head. Had he really been seeing things?
Skyler looked at Monday. "Uncle, whose dog is this? It looks so familiar."
He felt like he had seen it somewhere before.
"Your dad's," Gordon said dismissively. He patted Monday's head, then pointed at Skyler. "Call him Big Brother."
Skyler looked utterly wronged.
"Uncle, I know I was wrong to mistake the dog for a person, but
you don't have to insult me. Why would I be a dog's big brother?"
on thave to insultime, Why
"Is that so?" Gordon raised an eyebrow.
"Of course! I'm a man of principle. You can beat me to death, but I will never be a dog's big brother!"
"Oh, so you have principles," Gordon said, bored. "Come on, Monday, let's go."
*Monday!* Wait a minute...
"That's Boss Caitlin's dog!" Skyler
exclaimed, chasing after them,
bet
excy bro Monday, Monday,
yes,
it's me, your Big Brother!"
