Rebecca met Olivia's gaze. Even though she had succeeded in driving a wedge between Olivia and Hailey's friendship, she knew Olivia still cared for Hailey.
Indeed, Jonah's betrayal of Hailey shook Olivia to her core, and knowing Hailey was pregnant only deepened her worry.
Rebecca's thoughts were laced with contempt. What made Hailey deserving of such devotion? Why did friends and lovers alike cling to her so fiercely?
All of a sudden, Rebecca reached out and grasped Olivia's hand. "I was honestly terrified back then. But I held my ground and turned him down."
Olivia gently patted Rebecca's back. "You did the right thing. After all, Mr. Pilsner and Hailey are about to get married. We can't be the kind of women who tear families apart. Some lines simply shouldn't be crossed."
Rebecca nodded, feigning sincerity. "You're right."
"The media is already going crazy over you and Mr. Pilsner," Olivia added. "This isn't going to blow over anytime soon. Why don't you meet with Hailey? Maybe you two can have a conversation and work things out."
"And how exactly do you expect us to resolve this?"
"Since nothing happened between you and Mr. Pilsner, why don't you clear things up in front of the media? The issues between Hailey and Mr. Pilsner are theirs to resolve."
Rebecca was stunned by Olivia's unexpected kindness. She had never gone out of her way to help her like this before.
Before Rebecca could respond, a familiar figure appeared. Hailey had arrived on campus.
Rebecca's eyes brightened up. "Look, Olivia! Hailey's here!" Olivia turned to see Hailey approaching. "Let's go talk to her." With that, Olivia led Rebecca toward Hailey. "Hey, Hailey!"
Hailey stopped and stared at them. "What's going on?"
"I heard everything that happened between Mr. Pilsner and Rebecca," Olivia said.
Rebecca stepped forward. "Hailey,

As she spoke, a smug smile crossed Rebecca's face.
"So, how are things between you and Mr. Pilsner now?" Olivia asked. Hailey's expression remained calm and composed. "Just like usual."
"We're only trying to help you! I was just telling Rebecca that she should come forward and set the record straight way the media. Maybe that way, she can help clear Mr. Pilsner's name," Olivia said.
Hailey was taken aback. She hadn't expected Olivia to take her side.
After all, Olivia had been her very first friend at Aspenfield University. It was unfortunate that Olivia's

to Rebecca's deceit.
Suddenly, Rebecca reached out and took Hailey's hand. "Hailey, you're my good friend. I'm willing to do this for you."
But as she spoke, her grip tightened, pressing hard against Hailey's hand.
Hailey frowned and shoved her away. "Let go!"
Rebecca stumbled, a sharp scream escaping her lips.
"Rebecca! Are you okay?" Olivia exclaimed, quickly reaching out to steady her.
Rebecca pouted. "Olivia, I was only trying to help Hailey. I didn't expect her to be so cold."
Olivia's frustration grew. "Hailey, what's wrong with you? Rebecca and I were just trying to do the right thing!"
"Thanks, I guess," Hailey replied curtly.
"How dare you!" Olivia exclaimed in disbelief.
Just then, a melodic ringtone filled the air. Hailey's phone was ringing.
