Chapter 1446:

Corrine looked at the glass but didn’t reach for it.

He added with a calm smile, “We’ve known each other for some time. And with Jules right here—what is there to worry about?”

“She’s not the only one who’s concerned,” Jules said as he appeared, one hand tucked in his pocket. He reached over and took the sparkling wine from Zeke. “Corrine can’t hold her alcohol. Better not offer her any.”

Zeke glanced at the fruit wine in Corrine’s hand, raising a brow. Fruit wine packed more punch than sparkling wine. So this was what they called not being able to handle alcohol?

He had known Jules for years and could tell he was just looking out for Corrine, so he let it go.

“Miss Holland, don’t forget what you promised me,” Zeke said, lifting his glass for a toast.

Jules frowned and turned to Corrine. “What did you promise him?”

Corrine paused. “Oh, nothing serious. I just agreed to help him check out the Cooper family’s new development project.”

Jules looked at her, his tone turning firm. “Next time, don’t make promises to strangers so easily. You never know what they’re really after.”

Zeke was at a loss for words.

The small group began to draw eyes from across the room.

After all, a gathering of attractive young people always made a scene.

And Corrine stood out most of all—she was simply breathtaking. With her flawless face, elegant figure, and cool, noble air, she easily stole the spotlight.

Every guest at the party held power or influence.

Tonight, a good match could mean more than love—it could mean alliance.

Just as the excitement grew, Nate descended the stairs with the other four men.

He wore a sharp black suit that highlighted his tall, commanding figure.

The crystal lights above lit up his chiseled features, adding to his already striking looks.

His aura was cold and powerful, demanding attention without a word. People naturally stepped aside as he passed.

At the front of the group, Nate scanned the room. When his eyes landed on Corrine, something in his expression shifted—just slightly.

The chill in the air seemed to melt, replaced by a quiet warmth. Nate walked up and held out his hand to Corrine. Gasps echoed around the room.

The men hoped she would turn him down. The women wished Nate’s interest was just a passing glance.

Under everyone’s watchful eyes, Corrine smiled and placed her hand in his. Their fingers interlocked, and the crowd’s hearts sank.

Nate led her toward Carl and gave a respectful nod. “Good evening, Mr. Ford.”

His voice was low and dry but filled with sincerity.
