Chapter 1510:
A shiver ran down Corrine’s spine as she gazed up at him. In the dim light, Nate’s eyes flickered with a fiery intensity, a hunger that seemed to burn just for her.
Caught in a daze, Corrine felt a chill as her dress slid up, her breath catching in her throat. Soft gasps and sighs filled the night, crafting a sensual symphony in the enveloping darkness.
The next day, at noon, Corrine took advantage of her lunch break to meet Karina for a meal. They sat across from each other in a cozy fondue restaurant.
Corrine, wiping her hands with an alcohol wipe, had a half-smile that unsettled Karina. To an onlooker, it might have seemed Corrine was preparing for something far more sinister if she wasn’t cleaning her hands.
Karina hesitantly picked up her fork, visibly nervous. “Wh…why are you looking at me like that?” she stammered.
Corrine tossed the wipe onto the table and crossed her arms. “Next time, when you’re unsure if you should ask a question, save us both the trouble and keep it to yourself,” she hissed, her voice sharp and accusing.
She raised an eyebrow. “Come on, spill the tea,” she challenged, her lips curling into a smirk.
Corrine shot her a frosty glare.
Karina recoiled slightly and lowered her gaze. “I was just looking out for you,” she muttered. “What if something serious had happened?”
Corrine lifted her glass of water and took a deliberate sip, maintaining her silence.
Encouraged by Corrine’s lack of response, Karina leaned in.
“Don’t tell me Nate overheard my voice messages?” she said, her voice a mix of caution and jest.
Corrine met her gaze, her expression revealing everything without a word.

“Did he really hear them?” Karina gasped, her voice quivering with newfound fear.
Corrine nodded solemnly.
Karina’s mind raced, dread filling her thoughts.
“Has Nate decided what he’s going to do to my family?” she asked.
“Now you’re scared?” Corrine shot back, her voice tinged with sarcasm.
“I was just concerned you two might lose yourselves in the passion, and a baby might be on the way before you’re ready,” Karina confessed, her defense faltering. She knew she had messed up.
Rumors had been circulating about Nate, claiming he was as great at business as he was in bed. The gossip had piqued Karina’s curiosity. However, she kept these thoughts to herself.
When their food arrived, the tension eased as they conversed and ate.
“When’s the flight?” Corrine asked nonchalantly.
“Next weekend,” Karina mumbled through mouthfuls.
Perfect, Corrine thought. It wouldn’t conflict with her plans with Nate.
They said goodbye at the exit of the restaurant after the meal.
As Corrine approached her car, a motorcycle burst from the sidewalk at full speed.
“Watch out!” Karina’s warning came just in time as she grabbed Corrine, pulling both to safety.
