Chapter 1534:
As she mulled over these thoughts, a wave of anger surged through Amelie.
Corrine was nothing but a temptress!
She must have perfected the art of seduction, making men fall all over themselves.
While Amelie was caught up in her animated conversation, a helicopter flew overhead. Curiosity piqued, she rolled down the window to get a better look and quickly ended her call.
A sense of foreboding overtook her, her brow furrowing in concern. She turned to the butler seated beside her. “Go check it out. Now.”
She was desperate for her plans to unfold without interference.
As the butler obeyed and stepped out of the car, another vehicle barreled toward him, seemingly intent on running him over.
Frozen with fear, the butler’s legs buckled, and he collapsed to the ground in panic.
At the very last second, the sound of screeching brakes filled the air, and the car halted just inches away from him.
Amelie’s eyes narrowed at the sight of the obstructing vehicle, a pulse of fear flickering across her face.
The sleek black Bugatti Chiron Noire sat like a predator—silent, coiled, and ready to pounce. Its presence exuded danger, raw and deliberate, stirring a memory she didn’t want to recall.
That thought alone made her shudder. Her pupils contracted, panic flashing in her eyes. A heavy wave of dread rolled over her, tightening around her chest.
Amelie gripped the front seat and ordered, “Drive! Now!”
With urgency coloring her tone, the driver had no option but to obey.
As they started off, another vehicle slammed into theirs.
The sudden jolt sent Amelie lurching forward, her forehead smashing against the seat.
Shaking off the shock, she shouted, “Drive! What are you waiting for? Get us out of here!”
There was panic in her voice now, raw and unfiltered, as if she could feel death reaching for her.

“But…” the driver stuttered, eyeing the vehicles blocking their path.
Fury contorted Amelie’s features, her eyes taking on a wild, desperate glint. “Drive! Or I’ll kill you!”
Compelled by her threat, the driver restarted the car, maneuvered around the obstructing vehicle, and quickly pulled away.
Relief mingled with caution in Amelie’s gaze as they left the obstructing cars behind.
Peering anxiously through the rear window, she noticed the black Bugatti closing in.
“Go faster! Faster!” she urged, pounding on the back of the driver’s seat.
The driver glanced at the menacing black sports car in the mirror, then back at the road, his hands tightening around the steering wheel as he pressed the accelerator further.
Yet, their pursuer matched their speed effortlessly, the chase resembling a cat toying with a cornered mouse.
Driven toward the deserted outskirts, Amelie felt a growing sense of helplessness envelop her.
The chase reached its climax when the black sports car abruptly accelerated, sideswiped them, and forced Amelie’s car to halt.
As their car teetered dangerously close to crashing through the guardrail into the ocean, the driver slammed on the brakes, his hands white-knuckling the steering wheel.
Despite his efforts, the vehicle behind continued to ram into them, pushing them ever closer to the watery abyss.
