Chapter 554:
As Yelena approached the entrance, she spotted Brody waving from a distance. “Over here,” he called out. Cayson eyed the scene, puzzled. “Who is this?”
Just then, as the goods were slowly lowered from the truck, a forklift approached to unload them. Cayson’s expression shifted to one of utter disbelief. “Is… is this the ma-machine?”
If not for the crowd around him, Cayson would have slapped himself for his stuttering. Stupid mouth! How could he mess up at such a crucial moment? It was mortifying!
“Yelena, you’re amazing! Where did you find this machine?” Bella exclaimed, looking at Yelena with feigned admiration. Deep down, she despised her. Bella was irked. If Yelena had access to the machine from the start, why had she acted so distressed, making Bella think she had a chance to undermine her?
“It’s none of your business,” Yelena replied coolly. “But I do owe thanks to a certain someone. Without their call to Frieda telling her we couldn’t make it, I wouldn’t have been forced to handle everything so promptly just to pacify our client.”
As she spoke, Yelena’s eyes flicked towards Bella, her gaze sharp and revealing.
Bella’s heart raced momentarily. She wondered if Yelena had discovered that it was she who had asked Remy to contact Frieda. Yet, she quickly composed herself. Even if Yelena suspected anything, what could she possibly do without proof?
Manuel surveyed the large machine Brody had delivered, feeling overwhelmed. Despite its arrival, they were clueless about its operation.
“This is a new machine. None of our workers or engineers are familiar with it, so they don’t know how to operate it,” Manuel explained. “We need to thoroughly study and research it before use. Such a delicate machine, especially one that produces fine products, demands careful handling. If anything goes wrong, who will take responsibility? It’s standard procedure here to first study any new equipment.”
“No need for that. I can operate it,” Yelena said.
“Yelena, this machine requires precise handling. Even seasoned workers might struggle with it. Without any experience, why risk it? It’s better to be cautious,” Bella said.

Yelena glanced at Bella casually and asked, “Why do you always have to dampen the mood?”
“I’m not trying to discourage you; I just don’t want you to make a mistake. I’m concerned about you,” Bella replied, her expression one of feigned sympathy.
Yelena decided it was futile to continue the conversation with Bella. Talking further seemed like a waste of time. She turned on the machine and started operating it.
Initially, everyone thought Yelena was merely tinkering. However, since the machine was procured through her efforts and even Cayson watched silently, Manuel held back his comments. Yet, his eyes remained intently on Yelena.
Manuel was impressed that Yelena could repair the machine. Could she operate it too? If so, Yelena’s skills could replace several workers, potentially jeopardizing their jobs.
Reading Manuel’s thoughts, Yelena suddenly asked, “Do you think real intelligent people would enjoy working Manuel was taken aback for a moment. Yelena certainly had a way of highlighting her own intelligence. But he couldn’t deny, she was indeed smart.
Surrounded by watchful eyes, Yelena maintained her composure effortlessly.
Her serious demeanor and meticulous attention to detail lent her an effortless grace that was captivating.
Meanwhile, Cayson discreetly captured a photo of Yelena, absorbed in her work, and shared it on Instagram with the caption, “She looks so beautiful when she’s focused.” Soon after, Cayson’s post gathered likes from Callum, Donna, and many others.
The flurry of comments included inquiries about who the girl was and whether he was dating her.
Of course, there were a few disparaging comments too, belittling her as just a machine operator, a mere factory worker. They were baffled that Cayson would be attracted to a “factory girl.”
Cayson hadn’t yet seen these comments on Instagram because he was focused on Yelena, who had just finished making the necessary part and was handing it off to the workers for further processing.
