Chapter 858:
Austin gazed at Yelena and said seriously, “I’m serious because I understand who you are, so the way you look doesn’t really matter to me. And…”
Deep inside, Austin felt that with Yelena being less pretty, everyone would desire her less, which eased his feelings of insecurity.
“And what?” Yelena asked, her curiosity piqued.
As Austin’s voice grew softer, Yelena leaned in to hear him better. However, Austin suddenly stopped talking, making Yelena realize the closeness between them. Quickly, she moved away.
“I’m going to remove my makeup,” she said, feeling the need to escape.
Yelena rushed out of the restaurant, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
Austin watched her leave and smiled broadly.
“Austin, do you think it’s just by chance that things like this happen?” John asked.
Austin glanced at John, a puzzled look crossing his face. “What are you still doing here?”
John paused, realizing Austin was hinting that he wasn’t welcome. “Honestly, you’re going to push everyone away with that attitude,” John said.
“Are you finished?” Austin asked, glancing at John. “If so, you should leave.”
John was left utterly speechless.
Maggie had no idea that Austin had a blind date scheduled for the day. She had taken Lena for a stroll. Unexpectedly, Lena rushed toward the Harris family villa. Standing there, Maggie felt too embarrassed to disturb them, but she couldn’t leave without her cat.
Luckily, Donna was in the yard, playing with Aus. Noticing Lena’s approach, she instinctively looked toward the door and was surprised to see Maggie.

Donna welcomed Maggie inside to join the fun.
Once inside, Maggie noticed that the Harris family had built a cat playground in their yard for Aus. It featured various cat toys and many kinds of treats. It was no surprise that Lena frequently ran over here.
Maggie stroked Lena’s head gently and spoke softly, “Lena, do you enjoy this place? If you do, I’ll ask your brother to build one for you too.”
Lena responded with an excited meow at the thought of her own cat playground, clearly delighted by the idea.
Maggie and Donna, both holding favorable views of one another, started chatting as if they were old friends reconnecting after a long time apart.
Suddenly, the ringtone of Maggie’s phone broke the peaceful atmosphere.
Maggie pulled out her phone and saw Aitana’s name on the display. She frowned, hesitant to answer, as Aitana was likely calling to push Austin into a blind date.
Despite her hesitation, Maggie pressed the answer button.
Aitana’s worried voice came through the line. “Maggie, has Austin spoken to you?”
A hint of suspicion crossed Maggie’s eyes. “Spoken to me about what?”
“He’s fallen in love with the woman from his blind date and plans to marry her!” Aitana exclaimed, sounding upset.
