Chapter 872:
Katelyn hoped above all that Yelena would find happiness. She couldn’t bear the thought of her repeating past mistakes. Donna understood Katelyn’s concerns and gently patted her hand.
“Our worries might be pointless, right? Life is full of uncertainties; no one knows what tomorrow holds. That’s why we must seize the day. We can’t let our fears hold her back, or she’ll never learn to navigate her own path.”
Reflecting on Donna’s words, Katelyn smiled. “I used to have my doubts about you. I thought you weren’t the right match for my brother. But now, I see how well you truly complement each other.”
As Katelyn finished, a loud crash by the door interrupted them. It sounded like something had fallen and shattered. Both Katelyn and Donna turned their heads, curious about the noise.
Dina, noticing their attention, gave them an awkward smile and said, “Go… good morning.”
Donna observed the mess on the floor, her eyes eventually resting on Dina’s hands. She said, “Your hands…”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t intend for this to happen. I made spinach casserole and brought some here for everyone to try. I was too clumsy and dropped it…”
Katelyn said, “That’s quite the coincidence! Just yesterday, Donna mentioned how she wished for some spinach casserole, but the person at the Harris mansion who knows the recipe has left for the holidays. We didn’t know you could make this too! It’s unfortunate that it got wasted.”
Dina’s complexion turned slightly pale as she remembered Callum talking to the staff at the Harris mansion the previous day about spinach casserole. She had believed it was Callum who had wanted the dish. A wave of discomfort washed over Dina, and she hurriedly scrambled to clean up the mess on the floor.
Donna told Dina, “You don’t have to clean that up. We can have the servants take care of it.”

“No, it’s my mess. I should be the one to clean it,” Dina said, continuing her efforts.
“Your hands are quite red from the heat. You should take care of them first,” Donna added as she reached out for Dina’s hand, but Dina suddenly pulled away. Caught unprepared, Donna lost her balance and fell, her hand striking a broken piece of the plate, sending a sharp pain through her palm.
Donna realized her hand was injured.
“What are you doing?!”
Callum, wearing a tank top and soaked with sweat, emerged from the basement gym just in time to witness Dina pushing Donna and Donna hitting the floor.
A surge of anger washed over Callum’s face. He hurried to Donna’s side, helping her to get up. Seeing the injury on her hand, he glared at Dina, his expression intense. “What brings you here so early, and how could you harm my wife’s hand?”
“I’m sorry, I…” Dina was overwhelmed with regret, struggling to find her voice.
“I didn’t mean for it to happen. I was just trying to clean up the mess when Donna grabbed my hand. I instinctively pushed her away because I was surprised, and…”
“You hurt her, and now you’re trying to dodge the blame?” Callum’s voice was laced with anger.
“I’m sorry. It wasn’t intentional.”
Just then, Yelena went down the stairs. Noticing Donna’s injured hand, she swiftly directed someone to get the first-aid kit. She carefully cleaned the wound herself and bandaged it.
“The cut isn’t deep, and a little treatment should be enough. However, make sure it stays dry to prevent infection,” Yelena instructed.
“Okay, I understand,” Donna responded.
By this time, the servants had finished cleaning the floor.
